The phone rang in Nick's house. He groaned, pulling the covers over his face.
It stopped.
Then started to ring again.
Nick reached his long arm and pulled the phone off the night-table.
"What?" He mumbled.
"Is this Mr.Carter?" The voice asked.
"Yesss." He said, stretching his long body across the bed.
"Sir, we suggest you come over to the hospital as soon as you can." He advised, Nick assumed he was Laurel's Doctor.
Nick hung up the phone, and hurried around the house to get ready.

"Before you go in we would like to inform you of Ms.Quinn's condition." The Doctor spoke.
Nick shifted in his chair uneasily, and Christy fixed her eyes on the Doctor, prepared for anything.
"First of all, have you contacted her parents?" He asked, and sat down on the edge of his desk, facing them. Christy looked at Nick.
"Her parents are dead.." She said quietly, Nick's eyes widened.
"And no foster parents?" The Doctor continued. Christy ran a stray hand through her hair.
"They aren't exactly on the best of terms with her, in fact they are in jail right now." Christy spoke. The Doctor blinked, and then coughed intentionally.
"Alright." He said simply, scrawling his pen on his paper. "Ms.Quinn has still not woken up, this doesn't happen very often. But we have a feeling..." He stopped, and took his glasses off of his desk, and placed them on the bridge of his nose.
"But?" Nick asked urgently.
"We are pretty sure that she will not make it." He said easily, obviously used to delivering this news. Nick and Christy, however, took it a different way.
Christy began to tear up again, and she opened her mouth to speak.
Nick shot out of his chair, and slammed the door behind him as he sped down the hallway. The Doctor sat up quickly, ready to call security.
"Wait!" Christy said. "He doesn't know how to take the news right now, leave him alone! Please.." She pleaded with him.

"Laurel," Nick whispered to her ghostly figure. "Laurel, wake up." He cried, holding her hands in his.
Nick looked up as he heard a beep. He found the heart moniter, and saw a flat line.
"Shit." He screamed, tears running down his face. He ran out of the room, there was a nurse in the hallway.
"You have to help her! She's dying!" He cried, pulling the nurse into the room. She gasped at what she saw, and buzzed in the doctor.
Nick ran up to Laurel.
"Laurel, you have to wake up!" He said softly in her ear. "You can't leave me." He sobbed into her hair. The Doctor ran into the room with a few other people, they pushed Nick away from her quickly.
"What's happening?" He screamed to anyone. No one answered him, he watched in fear as they ran around the room, grabbing things, and trying to revive Laurel.
Nick looked behind him to see Christy watching at the door.
"She's dead." A Doctor declared.
He walked up to Nick and Christy. "We're sorry, we did everything we could."
Christy broke down again, and Nick stared at Laurel, hoping that it was all a dream. He watched as she became more and more pale.
The Doctor guided Nick out the door, Nick shrugged him off, walking into the room once again.
"Sir!" He screamed to Nick. "She's gone." Nick shook his head.
"Just wait." He whispered. He kissed her eyelids softly, and smiled when he felt them move. He looked down and saw her flutter her eyes open.
"Holy shit!" One of the Doctors screamed.
"I told you..." Nick said smugly, as he stared at Laurel.
"Nick?" She asked weakly. Nick pushed her hair behind her ears.
"I'm right here baby." He soothed, kissing her cheek.
"What happened?" She asked, taking in her surroundings. Christy walked swiftly up to the other side of the bed. She grabbed Laurel in a tight embrace.
"You drank too much." She said quietly. I moaned as I remembered all I had to drink.
"I want to go home." I said dryly.

Nick placed another glass of water on the table beside me.
"Nick i've had enough water." I said with a laugh, pushing it away. He sat down beside me on the couch.
He had brought me back to his house since Christy wanted to clean up ours.
I felt my stomach churn and moaned.
"What's wrong?" Nick asked as he noticed my sudden look of pain.
"I'm never going to drink again.." I mumbled, placing my hand on my stomach. Nick smiled at me. "I can't believe I died.." His smiled dropped.
I reached up, running a hand gently over his face. He placed his hand over mine, and bent down to my level. I closed my eyes, ready this time.
He placed his lips over mine, locking them in a soft kiss. I snaked my arms around his neck, pulling him down closer to me.
