In late 2000, Erin Jeffreys persuaded her cousin and close friend, Simon Jeffreys to buy a bass guitar and learn so they could start a band. They started out rough with Erin, who had been playing music for 3 years and Simon, one day. After they had played a while and wrote a few songs, they desperately searched for a drummer and thought it was hopeless. Little did they know that in a year and a half, after much practice and songwriting, they would meet up with "emo boy" himself, David Harwell.
Before David, Erin and Simon sent Matthew Lee, of 1318 Productions, an 11 song demo cd of Erin on vocals, guitar, drums and Simon on bass. He signed them.
Erin met David at school in band and one day had an urge to just ask if he wouldn't mind coming to jam. His reply was, "sure, that would be fun!" After playing together 2 times they decided to stick and began practicing 4 - 5 days a week for an upcoming show. Matt joined the band in May of 2002 and played guitar. The band had differences so they decided to go on without him.
The reason behind Harlen is the love for playing music and determination to take them as far as they can go and beyond.
