6/21/06:

With a heavy heart, I offer my sincere condolences to Duane's family, friends and band mates.

We've lost another hero, yet he lives on through his music and through our memories.

Thank you for the music, the inspiration and for being so kind and encouraging to me when I had the honor to meet and to speak to you.

I'll miss you Duane.

6/21/06:

To the Roland family,

Our condolences from the Badd Intent band. Duane was a true inspiration to me as guitarist but more than that, he a was truly wonderful human being. He was always giving his time to spend with fans, no matter what was happening to him. I was truly honored to share some time with him and to see his last performance in Mantua Ohio two weeks ago. To say he will be missed is and understatement. Danny, Jakson, and Duane sure will be keeping things southern upstairs. If there’s anything we can do to help, do not hesitate to ask.

God Bless the Roland family

Peace out Mike of Badd Intent

Duane:

Your guitar's sound flavored Molly Hatchet with that down home smoky 'whiskey' essence and became the pure sound of Southern Rock.  You and Danny rock on in Heaven, take care of each other; we'll sadly miss you here.

6/22/06:

My condolences to Duane's family and friends. Duane was a big influence on my guitar playing. His sound was so awesome that I would listen to some tunes over and over because I could not get enough. I was so looking forward to seeing him with Gator Country. Big "D" and Flying V's forever!! May he rest in peace.

With all my respect, Curt Garrison

This is absolutely heartbreaking.  Duane was one of my all-time favorite guitarists and I was hoping I would get to see him with Gator Country.  Thanks for all the great memories Duane- my heart goes out to all Duane's extended family and friends...

6/28/06:

Brother Duane,

This is a tragic loss of a wonderful musician and person who touched the hearts of so many.  Im in total, absolute shock over this.  I so badly wanted to see Duane on stage again with his brothers (Gator Country) from the old Molly Hatchet days.

Like Danny said on the album, "Stand on it....Duane!"

RIP

6/25/06:

To the Duane Roland family:

My name is Bill Hansing -- you folks would not know me at all.

I followed Molly Hatchet and all the permutations of the band afterward for all these years.  I later learned that Duane Roland is exactly my same age -- and that he lived in Jeffersonville, Indiana and Evansville, Indiana.  I lived in those two places as well -- so who knows if our paths ever crossed.

I just wanted you to know that people are sharing your loss with you at this time.

Duane was a very talented artist and through the gift God gave him, he has brought joy to so many people throughout his lifetime.

I will pray for you that God's presence through His Holy Spirit is with you -- comforting you -- and assuring you that He is Lord.

Be at peace in knowing that Duane Roland is with his Father in heaven.

Bill Hansing
