We pulled up to the house about 10 minutes later.
“Is it ok if I don’t park it in the garage Katie?” Brian asked.
“Yea it fine. I don’t normally park it in the garage anyway just when there’s a chance of rain or something.” I replied. He nodded and pulled into the driveway parking the car. We piled out of the car and went for the front door. Brian was ahead of all of us with a house key.
“Here Katie. It was laying by the door.” Brian said handing me note that had my name on it along with a blood red rose taped to it. I quickly took it before yelling at Mom.
“Mom! Get over here please!” I yelled cause she was still standing by the van.
“What is it?” She asked quickly walking towards me.
“Call Steve please.” I told her.
“Why...?” She started to say but then seen the note in my hand. “Yea I’ll do that right now.” She said. We all quickly went inside and she picked up the phone to call Steve. While she did that I opened the letter.
Hey Lover! What’s up? I hope you’re in a good mood. By the time you find this I’ll be there. I’ll be waiting. I can’t wait to have you again. You were amazing last time even if you didn’t want it. I’m waiting Baby, come find me.
Brady
“Oh God.” I whispered dropping the letter.
“What is it?” Kevin asked. I didn’t answer him as I quickly looked around the den to make sure he wasn’t in there. I hadn’t realized it until he said something but Brian had picked up the note and read it.
“Mom tell Steve to get here ASAP.” He said. I looked at him and realized he had the note. “We need to search the house and Katie you’re not be alone.” He said.
“Brian what are you talking about?” Aj asked.
“This.” Brian replied handing him the letter.
“Oh Shit!” Aj exclaimed. Everybody else read it and had about the same reaction. Josh and Sarah walked in about then.
“Sorry it took so long I had to drop Haylie off. What’s wrong?” He asked. I silently handed him the rose. “Oh shit.” He stated. He knew the only one that gave me a single blood red rose was Brady. He was the only one that even gave me red roses anymore because everybody else knew that I hated the color. “What’s it say?” He asked quietly.
“He’s here Josh. He’s in here somewhere.” I stated quietly.
“You’re right I am.” A voice stated. That voice made my blood run cold and all that ran through my veins was fear. Kevin quickly pulled me into his arms going to the back of the room so we were behind everybody else.
“Damn Brady why can’t you just leave her alone?” Josh asked standing infront of Brady.
“Aww her little Joshie to the rescue.” Brady said sarcastically. Sarah came and stood beside me trying to give me some comfort. About then Kevin let go of me and went to the front to face.
“You’re a real bastard…” Kevin started to say but Brady interrupted him.
“Oh I know I am but you should be saying that about the bastard over here if you knew he was probably the one that impregnated your beautiful cousin.” He stated pointing to Josh.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Josh and I said at the same time as Kevin exclaimed “Excuse me?” While everybody else had shocked looks on their faces.
“Oh you two don’t remember do you?” Brady stated cockily.
“Like I said Brady, what the hell are you talking about?” I asked again.
“Oh if only I would’ve been able to touch you the way he did. You let him, you wanted him.” Brady stated running his hand across my cheek. I jerked away from him only to be pulled back seconds later. “Don’t you dare pull away from me.” He sneered holding my arms tightly.
“Let go Brady.” I said through clenched teeth.
“Let her go Brady.” Harry said coming in from the kitchen. *He must have came in through the garage door* I thought.
“Oh big brother to save the day.” Brady said sarcastically but let me go.
“Ok stop beating around the bush Brady. What were you talking about?” Sarah asked.
“Oh yes, that night 2 weeks after I had my way with you. I may have been jail Katelene but that doesn’t I mean that I didn’t have people following you.” He said running finger down my neck and across my shoulder. I didn’t move that time not wanting to have any more bruises than I was already going to have. “You learn quickly Katie. Anyway back to the subject at hand. Surely you remember getting dressed that night and walking into the party.” He said.
“No Brady I don’t remember any party.” I stated.
“Ok well you guys were totally wasted only after about an hour. You were all over each other on the dance floor. You guys decided you wanted to leave. You were smart enough to take a cab to your house, but instead of going in you guys went to the woods. Then right there by the lake you guys had your fun.” He explained. I stood there absolutely stunned. He was lying through his teeth. I never went to a party at all that summer. I knew that Tommy was Brady’s. “So tell me Katie. Did the doctors tell you the dates your baby boy could have been conceived? Did they tell you it was somewhere between the 19th and 21st?” He asked.
