Living room still; it’s 11:55 am
“Katelene Honesty Littrell!” Brian yelled.
“Gosh Brian Thomas Littrell what is it? You didn’t have to yell!” I said startled.
“Well it seems I did,” He said with a small smile, “I’ve been calling your name for the past 5 minutes.”
“Oops” I said with a sheepish grin.
“Don’t worry about it.” He said laughing.
“So what did you want?” I asked. Brian got a blank look on his face giving away that he had forgot what he wanted to ask me. That sent me into a fit of giggles.
“Oh shut up.” Brian said as he started to tickle me, something that he loves to do to because I’m so ticklish.
“NOOO…..BRI…..AN……BRIBEAR…….NO……ST…..OOOP………BRI……PLEASE!” I yelled laughing. Brian wasn’t pinning my hands down so they were free and that gave me the most brilliant idea. I reached up to his ribs and started tickling him, which sent us both into more fits of laughter. It was then something I’ll never forget happened.
“THUD” I heard. “What the heck was that.” I thought, then I realized that I was no longer being tickled. I looked to the floor only to find my brother lying there with a dumbfounded look on his face. “Having fun down there Bri?” I asked trying to hold back my smile and laughter, which didn’t last long as a burst into a fit of laughter.
“Oh you think that’s funny huh?” Brian asked getting up and brushing him self off.
“No.” I said through my laughter.
“Yea right, and you expect me to believe that?” He asked looking down at me lying on the couch laughing at how idiotic he could be. I could only nod my head yes to answer him. When I was least expecting it he reached over and pushed me off the couch immediately stopping my laughter. He was standing there laughing as I looked at him completely shocked that he had done that. But around here between the siblings you don’t get mad you just get even, for the small things anyway, and that’s exactly what I did.
I jumped up and started tickling Brian and what a mistake that was. He grabbed my hands to keep me from tickling him. “Katelene Honesty Littrell you have a 5 second head start!” He said with playful smile and laughing eyes as he let me go and I ran for the stairs. I got to the top and stopped to think of a good place to hide. About that time I heard ‘5’ and Brian begin to run for the steps.
“I’m dead” I thought as I ran for his room jumping from one side of the bed landing in the middle of the bed, then jumping off to the other side, running out the door and down the stairs to the front door with Brian hot on my tail until he tripped his shoes that were laying beside his bed. That gave me enough time to get the door unlocked and to get outside. I stepped outside to see Kevin standing towards the back of his car beside the trunk. “Yes an advantage” I thought. “Kevvy!” I yelled running towards him thinking I now had somebody to ‘protect’ me from Brian.
“Hey Katie!” Kevin yelled thinking I was that exited to see him and I was but my main mission at the moment was to get away from Brian.
“Hide me!” I yelled as I ran behind him and ducked at behind the back of the car just as Brian ran out of the house.
“Alright where’d she go?” I heard Brian say. “Oh hey Kev” Brian said seeing him and walking towards him. “Hey guys, Jane, Denise.” He said
“Guys, Jane, Denise? What does he mean and who are they?” I thought. Then I turned around still hiding out of sight from Brian. I seen 2 ladies and 3 other guys I didn’t know. “The guys must be the rest of the band, but who are the ladies?” I thought. There was a blonde with blue eyes that looked to be my age maybe a little older, then there was one with short brown hair and brown eyes he looked to be a little younger than Kevin, there was one that also had short brown hair but you couldn’t tell what color his eyes were cause he had sunglasses on, he looked to be a couple years older than me. I waved at them and smiled. The blonde one lifted his hand to wave back but I shook my head no and motioned him to put his hand down with my hand. I then turned back around to listen to what Kevin and Brian were saying and how happy I am that I did.
“Hey you wouldn’t of happened to see Katie?” Brian asked.
“Yep actually I have.” Kevin stated with a sly smile probably pay back for not hugging him since I hadn’t seen him in almost 6 months because he lived in Orlando.
“Kevin Richardson don’t you dare.” I thought as I listened more closely.
“Well where is she?” He asked knowing Kevin knew.
“She’s right here.” Kevin as he pulled me out from behind the car before I got the chance to run.
“KEVIN SCOTT YOU’RE DEAD AS SOON AS I GET AWAY FROM BRIAN!” I screamed getting lose from his grip and running for the wood behind our house that Brian and Harry had a tree house in that was just 50 feet or so from where the woods started there was also a lake another 200 feet from the tree house.
Kevin’s P.O.V.
“Sorry about that, they act like that a lot. They should be back in just a couple minutes.” I said apologizing for my cousins’ behavior.
"It’s ok Kevin don’t worry about. They’re just having fun.” Jane said.
“Yea I know. You eventually get used to ‘em.” I replied.
“So the girl that hid, that was Brian’s sister Katie, right?” Howie asked.
“Yes, that was her.” I answered.
“Well she was pretty nice she waved at us.” AJ said laughing and the rest of us laughed too.
“Here she comes.” Nick said. I turned around to see her coming up to me, with a look on her face that looked like she had just concord the world.
My P.O.V.
“Sorry, Brian decided to go on a killing spree, but I don’t think you’ll have to worry about him going on another one for awhile.” I joked giggling.
“Why’s that?” The guy with the sunglasses on asked.
“Cause I pushed him in the lake.” I said smiling while everybody else started laughing.
“Yea right Kat.” Kevin said laughing.
“Actually Kev, I don’t think she was lying” The one with short brown hair said. They all looked up to see Brian coming up to us soaking wet with a small mischievous smile on his face. Brian walked up to me.
“Oh Katelene thank you. Do you know how much I love you?” He said and then hugged me, drenching me from head to toe, as every body else laughed. That gave me another wonderful idea on how to get Kevin back.
“Oh I love you so much too B.” I said hugging him and then quietly and quickly whispering my plan in his ear and then pulled away. We both turned to Kevin and walked towards him with sly smiles and laughing eyes.
“Kevin do you know how much we love you?” We asked walking up to him and hugging him getting him wet too.
“Not very much but atleast I finally got my hug from you.” He said hugging me and laughing.
“Brrrr.” I said as I pulled out of Kevin’s arms noticing the wind had picked up. “Looks like that bad storm we’re supposed to get is almost here.” I said looking up at the dark gray sky.
“Sure looks that way huh?” Said one of the ladies with dark brown hair. I then remembered I hadn’t been introduced to any of them.
“Yea. Let’s go inside before it starts raining.” I said as lightning lit up the sky.
