Chap. 5
Jenn woke up it was 3:30 am she sighed she looked to her left and saw that Lance was not there she saw J.C. sleeping on the couch and Caitlyn and Chris in the bed next to her. (Justin, Kady, and Joey where in the room next to them) Jenn knew that Caitlyn and Chris would be up soon so she hurried in the shower and made sure she was extra quiet. Lance walked in the door with jeans, a shirt and a baseball cap for his so-called "disguise".
"You ready." he whispered
"Yeah let me find my sunglasses" Jenn said while shuffling through her suitcase.
"You need a hat too, their are fans hanging out all over the lobby." Lance said as he picked up Jenn's bags. "I'm already packed and the car is read."
"Ok lets go." Jenn said as Chris and Caitlyn started to move in their bed.
"Now" Lance said running out of the room
"Ok" Jenn said running out of the room laughing at the way his face panicked and the way he ran with her heavy bags.
Jenn closed the door slowly making sure it made no sound and ran after Lance who had already gotten in the elevator.
"You excited?" Lance said looking in her eyes that where covered by her sunglasses.
"Yeah" she says as she puts on her Fumanskeeto cap and brushes the lent off her shirt.
"Ok when we go don't look around.....their all over." Lance said talking about the fans who nearly noticed him 10 minutes before.
"Ok" Jenn said not worrying she knew they weren't gonna hurt her sometimes Lance overreacts.
They walk out of the elevator and see some fans sitting at a table nearby.
"What do you have in here." Lance says trying not to drag Jenn's bags on the floor.
"My house." Jenn says laughing
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH JENNIFER TRAVIS AND LANCE BASS AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH OH MY GOD!!!!" A fan screamed which started a whole chain reaction of recessive screaming.
"Run" Lance whispered trying to act casual in a not so casual situation.
"What" Jenn said laughing
"You heard me run."
They ran out of the car as 20 fans run after them
"Isn't this kind of rude" Jenn says rethinking their decision to run.
"Not when they want to trample you no." Lance said while he jumps in the car and throws Jenn's luggage in the passenger seat. Jenn runs around the other side and throws the luggage that fell in her seat to the back and lance puts his car in reverse and pulls out.
"Don't run them over." Jenn laughs as she waves to the fans that are pounding against the car's windows.
"I wont" Lance says as he swerves in and out of fans.
"Where is security when you need them?"
"Yeah well if they knew about this then everyone else would know and they would track us down." Lance said sounding like they had just escaped from jail.....
"But why couldn't have the rest of them come? " Jenn wondered
"Because I wanted us to be alone." Lance finally admitted
"Oh ok....." Jenn said looking out the window
"Here we go we are on the highway." Lance says happy to be away from all the problems he had well almost all...
"What's the first stop?" Jenn asked
"We should be in Virginia by 5 tonight." Lance said checking the car clock
"Ok then Virginia here we come."
*9 HOURS LATER*
Jenn awoke to see that she was the only one in the car. She panicked for a minute but then noticed Lance coming out of a building. She noticed the way he walked....she remembered the first time she met him and they way she jumped back.....she felt that same feeling now that she felt then. She could not describe the feeling but every time she looked into his eyes or she touched him she felt it. As she saw him approach the car she stuffed her head deep into her pillow to wipe the newly found tears that had reached her eyes.
"Hey your up." Lance said even though Jenn looked like she was asleep. Lance noticed when he came out of the building that she was up and staring at him. The way she stared got him to think.
"Yeah....where did you go?"
"To the bathroom........ to sign some autographs......and to ask for directions"
"To where?'' Jenn asked thinking that Lance had already planned this out.
"A hotel." Lance said as he pulled out of the parking lot making sure not to make eye contact with Jenn cause he would get distracted.
"Ok" Jenn yawns as she reached into one of her many bags and takes out her cell phone.
"I have gotten like 10 messages from each of them" Lance said referring to their friends that they ditched at the hotel and airport.
"I have 20 messages and it is all them too.....do you think we should tell them." Jenn said getting a little worried that Caitlyn called her cause Caitlyn was always to wrapped up in Chris to care.
"Naw....they will figure it out...one more hour until we eat." Lance said trying to change the subject and figure out where the heck he was going.
"Good I'm tried and starving." Jenn says as she puts her head down on her pillow and watched Lance drive.
*IN ORLANDO*
Caitlyn, Kady, Chris, Justin, Joey and J.C. all arrived in Orlando safely . It was now the official start of their vacation but they were all worried because they did not know where the heck Jenn and Lance were....only one person knew and he swore he would not tell.........
"DAMNIT" Caitlyn said pushing "end" on her phone and kicking the nearest thing next to her which was Chris.
"OOWWW" Chris said pouting.
"They are still no picking up." Kady sighed
"Of course not" Chris said rubbing his bruised knee.
"Man where are they." Justin said putting down his cell phone.
"They make us wait for an hour at the airport thinking they overslept or something and they are no shows....and they left no hint or trail on where they were going.
"I'm staring to get worried this is not like Jenn." Kady said
"Or Lance" Justin mumbled
"Who says there together?" Caitlyn says trying to make something into a mystery.
"They are" Joey says as he bites into his meatball sub.
"Wait....Joey how do you know that?" J.C. says signaling to the rest that Joey probably knows something they don't.
"They are safe and fine and that is all that matters." Joey says trying not to say anymore.
"There is something fishy going on here." Kady says
"Well it is not from me cause I have a meatball sub." Joey says
"JOEY TELL US NOW!" Caitlyn says as she snatches the meatball sub away form Joey's grasp.
"Look I swore I cant and give me that back man." Joey says
"NOT UNTIL YOU TELL US WHERE THEY ARE." J.C. says fatherly.
"Well....cant I get the sub back?" Joey asked
"If you talk" Caitlyn says giving the meatball sub to Chris
"What I don't want it" Chris says handing it to Kady who sets it on a table nearby
"Hey be careful with that.........alright........where to start......Lance planned this whole "road trip" thing and he brought Jenn because he has something planed to where he will tell her how much he loves her and all that crap. Every time Lance tries to tell her one of you guys always disrupts him and he is tired of it so that is why he is taking her somewhere camping or something with no contact what so ever. Can I have my sub back?"
"What exactly is he planning on doing?" Caitlyn asked wanting to know the details.
"I did not ask....probably ya know." Joey says winking
"GO LANCE!!!" J.C. says and then plays with his shirt as he gets mean glares from Kady and Caitlyn
"You guys are bad" Caitlyn says shaking her head
"Oh...I know what it's the ring.." Kady says remembering
"The wha?" Justin said
"The ring, Lance, made me pick it up for him, before Jenn's birthday , but I guess he never gave it to her."
"Is he proposing?" Chris said covering his mouth
"But why?" Caitlyn says?
"Cause he loves her" Joey said searching for his sub.
"Since when?" Caitlyn asked joking around
"Since the first time she fell into his lap" J.C. says
"I was being retarded I know....but he still should have told us."
"I'm going to keep calling." Kady said flipping out her cell phone.
"Same here." Caitlyn says.
"Why we know she is ok." Chris said not seeing the use of all these calls
"But we know her ...we are her best friends." Kady tried to explain
"What we are trying to say is that well Jenn has never really been alone with a guy....or in a relationship with a guy.............so we don't want her to go fast or screw it up." Caitlyn says
"HAHA she wont" J.C. said
Kady stops J.C. short: "Like we said we know her"
*Somewhere in Virginia I think......*
"DAMNIT" Lance pounded the steering wheel
"Are we still lost?" Jenn sighed they have been lost forever and have not eaten since 9 in the morning.
"Not lost....just don't know where we are." Lance laughed
"Well it is 12 a.m. and I'm going to sleep." Jenn said putting her head on her pillow.
"Wait no there is a campsite up ahead we will just go there." Lance suggested
"But we don't have a tent." Jenn said stating the obvious
"Who said we didn't?" Lance said looking at Jenn
"What?" Jenn said
"Hey you have to become prepared." Lance smirked
"When was the last time we ate my stomach hurts." Jenn whined looking out the window towards the blackness of night.
"I have food in the back so when we get there we will eat." Lance said
"You mean we had food in this car and you never told me?" Jenn said starting to get angry.
"I wanted to save it for tonight....here we are."
They pull into a camping site and a man runs up to the car and Lance flashes a orange ticket at him and the man tells him to go ahead in.
"Wait a second." Jenn says starting to catch on.
"What?" Lance says looking in Jenn's eyes innocently.
"Lance..." Jenn sighs putting her face in her hands.
"Iv been here before and it is really nice and I wanted to show you and plus if we were at a hotel people would be all over us." Lance said pulling into a wooded area.
"True" Jenn agreed wondering what else Lance never told her about.
"This is the spot.....I'll go set up the tent ...here take a flashlight..." Lance said handing Jenn a yellow flashlight
Jenn takes the flashlight and looks around. There was a stream up ahead and a street light up above she did not really need a flashlight but she was afraid of the animals out there.
"Umm Lance..." Jenn said
"Yeah" Lance said pulling the tent out to the back of the car.
"Are there any animals out here?" Jenn said pacing
"When aren't there? I wouldn't worry about them." Lance said reading the instructions on how to set up a tent. "Why don't you go get some sticks so we can make a fire"
"Ok" Jenn said
Jenn walked along the stream picking up sticks and thinking to herself. Now that Jenn wasn't with Frankie anymore....well Frankie doesn't know but Jenn is over him. Jenn got her mind on Lance. She has always liked Lance, she liked him before she knew him probably even more then she does now. But that was different she felt a different kind of passion for him then she did when she was obsessed with him. A feeling Jenn wanted to have with Frankie but didn't. Jenn got this feeling every time she thought of Lance or every time he looked her way or stared at her from across the room. His voice, his hair, his lips, all made her feel the same sensation every time she thought about him. She was in love. And Jenn was in love with Lance for a long time....she just didn't know how to tell him. She never got mad at Lance...no matter how hard he pushed her buttons or how hard she tried to hate him that feeling she had never went away and it was never going to go away. Jenn heard a stick break behind her and she turned around but no one was there. She shook her head and sighed that she was imagining things and started to collect more sticks. Jenn felt someone grab her and she let out a yelp as she heard the voice that made her startle.
"The tent is up" Lance whispered kissing Jenn's neck
"Why do you always have to scare me? "Jenn laughed
"It makes you look sexy." Lance said grabbing Jenn's hand as they headed back to the camp site.
"Well here are the sticks I hope you know how to start a fire."
"Don't worry I have it all under control."
* 1 Hour Later *
"Finally" Jenn sighed taking a bite of a potato chip
"I told you I could start a fire." Lance grinned
"But that was an hour ago." Jenn laughed
"But it is up now." Lance said ass he sat down next to Jenn
"wow look at all those stars"
"Yeah" there pretty"
"I could sit here all night and stare at them."
"As Long as I'm with you I can." Lance says holding Jenn in his arms
Lance stared down at Jenn and noticed the way that one strand of hair always fell out of place.....he noticed everything about her the way she slept so peacefully at night and they way she always laughed at his jokes even if they were corny. The feeling he always got when he was around her. He loved her. He only wished she loved him back. But he will always love her the way she came into his life was so sudden he wasn't ready for any of it but when Jenn had fallen into his lap he knew there was something there .....that feeling he got every time he looked into her blue eyes was the same feeling he got when she entered a room or when he was kissing her. There was silence until Lance started:
"Hey Jenn there is something I need to tell you" Lance said pulling a little box out of his pocket. "I....I...Love" lance was interrupted by the sound he knew to well the sound of the ringing of the phone. It was Jenn's phone.
"Damnit why does it always happen." Lance said
Jenn turned her cell phone off knowing this was going to change there lives forever. "You were saying" she said
"Jenn you mean everything to me and I want to be with you .....forever......I Love You.
Tears filled Jenn's eyes.
"And I want to give you this ring as a promise ring to show you my love for you I have a matching one too...I want our forever to start now." Lance said
Jenn looked at the ring it had diamonds all around and inscribed inside of it was "Lance and Jennifer Forever" "Lance" Jenn says while hugging him " I love you too I never loved Frankie it was you all along I didn't think you needed me I thought you deserved better"
"Oh Jenn....you are the best thing that ever happened to me"
"Shhhh" Jenn says while kissing Lance. "Lets go in the tent."
"Ok" Lance says as he carried Jenn inside the tent and zips it up for the night.
