"Yes"- Chris's story- Jenn (*NSTALKER)

The hot sun gazed on his body he wiped the sweat from his forehead adjusting his visor. "WE won, WE won!" Lance said high-fiving Chris. 

"Yeah and that will never happen again." Justin replied back. 

"Well I'm sorry guys but I cant play another game I gotta go home." Chris said taking a sip from his water bottle. 

"Why so fast?" J.C. asked 

"Tonight's the night" Chris replied grabbing his bag 

"For what?" Joey asked 

"I'm going to propose to her." Chris smiled while walking away from the guys to his car. 

"Good luck" they shouted to him as Chris started to drive away.

"Luck" He laughed to himself, that was one thing he didn't really need, he loved her and he knew she would say yes. Every time he was with her he knew that they would be together forever. He pulled along side a curb when he heard an ambulance; as soon as it past he pulled into a parking lot to a store just down the street from his house. He decided to get some dinner to bring home. He put the groceries in his car and drove down the street to his house he could not wait to tell her he knew she had been waiting for this a long time. As he pulled up to his house he noticed a police cars out in front of it and started to get scared. The policeman noticed him pull into the driveway and approached Chris as Chris got the groceries from his trunk.

"Mr. Kirkpatrick" The policeman said in a stern voice.

"Yes" Chris said with a lump in his throat he knew something had to be wrong.

"Sir your wife."

"My girlfriend....what happen to her?" Chris said dropping the grocery bags onto his lawn.

"Your girlfriend was shot by an intruder and she was just taken to a nearby hospital." The policeman said looking into Chris's teary eyes

"Oh my god....how is she?" Chris said

"I don't know sir but by the looks of things not to good."

"I have got to go see her." Chris said jumping into the car in moments notice.

He sped down the road to the nearby hospital calling all the guys cell phones and telling them what is going on. How could someone do this? Why couldn't this just have happen to him? He pulled up the the emergency ward and grabbed one of the nurses and she directed him to the room.

He looked in and saw her frail body lying on the bed with a ventilator hooked up to her.

"Mr. Kirkpatrick" a doctor said seeing him looking in the windpw, outside the room.

"Is she ok." He said trying to regain his composure

"No sir......she lost a lot of blood.....we don't expect her to live much longer"

"BUT SHE HAS TOO" Chris yelled "I LOVE HER, ISN'T THAT ENOUGH FOR HER TO STAY ALIVE."

"I'm sorry sir......you can go check on her if you want but she probably wont respond to what you say" The doctor said opening the door.

Chris walked in and pulled up a chair beside her bed. He grabbed her hand.

"I love you, please hold on you cant leave me hear like this....." He said putting his face into her lap.

He felt her squeeze his hand and he looked up into her eyes. She gave a faint smile.

"Chris." She tried to say but it took all her strength to say it

He pulled out the ring, he wanted to be with her and no one else so he decided to propose now, even if she did die she would never leave his heart.

"I was going to give this too you later, but I think now is the time, I love you, will you marry me?"

She looked into his eyes and smiled, she knew it was a stupid thing for him to do because she was dying but she loved him and she was glad he was the last person she would see.

"Yes" she said as she took her last breath.
