Jeff Oliver - The Beat Goes On...

JEFF OLIVER has been involved in the Australian Music Industry for over thirty years, and during this time has established a well-known reputation for being one of Western Australia's most talented drummers. JEFF OLIVER is originally from Melbourne, and has been playing drums since the age of twelve. After moving to Darwin in 1989, Jeff became the resident drummer for most of the local bands there, before relocating to Perth in 1993. Jeff has played in a number of well-known bands, including the POOR BOYS, best known for their number one hit, 'More Wine Waiter Please', toured with Australia's leading Blues musician, MATT TAYLOR and the band 'CHAIN', supported famous acts such as STATUS QUO, STEVE MORSE BAND, SLADE, and DEEP PURPLE, worked on several successful album releases, helped write a No.1 hit, and has played at venues such as; RAFFLES HOTEL, Bindoon Rock, Pannawonica Rodeo, Esperance Oz Rock, and Darwin River Rock. JEFF OLIVER is also a former member of the popular IAN KENNY BAND, performing with IAN KENNY (IKB/WORLDS END/TRUE COLORS) for over eight years, and has also performed with Bass Guitarists JON RYDER (VDELLI/IKB/TRILOGY/SARACEN) and PAUL O’NEILL in this time.

In 2001 JEFF OLIVER teamed up with PETER DEAN former lead singer/bass guitarist for legendary band 'The JETS' (well-known for it's hard hitting rock 'n' roll) and ROD COXELL, (lead guitarist) also a former member of 'The JETS'. to form the dynamic and powerful Australian band PEARL COAST performing with them for over two and a half years. In this time the band became extremely popular in the music scene, building a solid reputation as a real crowd pleaser, as well as playing support for many leading acts. PEARL COAST toured Western Australia on a regular basis, and supported such bands as 'The ZEP BOYS' at recent events in Perth. Early in 2004 PEARL COAST became a regular support band for the 'JIMMY BARNES' regional tours. In 2003 the band featured on an episode of the ABC’s “New Dimensions” hosted by GEORGE NEGUS. PEARL COAST was also reputed for being one of the “hardest working little bands” in Western Australia. When you put three such talented and experienced muso's like this together, you can expect the result to be a top-notch, energy packed, crowd pleasing, rock 'n' roll experience, and 'PEARL COAST', never failed to deliver what their audience wanted.

With the amicable disbandment of 'PEARL COAST' in 2004, JEFF OLIVER has since decided to pursue his musical career in America sometime next year (2005). In the meantime, Jeff plans to take some well-deserved time off, having spent over the past eighteen months straight touring on the road.
