Morris Dance Tunes Medley: Fieldtown Processional -> 23. Jockey To The Fair -> 24. Room For The Cuckoo -> 25. Greensleeves -> 26. Princess Royal -> 27. Fieldtown Processional Total Time ::: 57:12 ::: VERY fine AUD for its vintage (Mk1 non-EQ'd version is lite on bass). Check samples for pearls or swine evaluation. ::: Warts: Repaired dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Taper cut off deck between some songs. Bit o' hiss. Occasional mike noises, especially in left channel, but most of them were healed or lessened in impact. ::: CONTRAST CLAUSE: This is the Mk2 WITH EQ version adding some midrange & bass. The Mk1 NO EQ version may be found elsewhere. ::: Personally I prefer the Mk2 EQ'd version which adds some meat to the bones, but both versions are quite enjoyable. ::: *Kudos Boathouse was aka "The Boathouse" and also possibly aka "Kew Bridge Folk Club". ::: Hopefully the traxsplits in the right places. #15 intro'd as Faerie Dance but presumably aka 'Floral Dance'. ::: From a cassette acquired in the 1980s. Nothing to do with the PR version (I gather there is one). Recording Information ::: unknown stereo tape recorder & microphones -> master (narrow) stereo tape -> ? (analog generations only) -> low generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette, Dolby B on. Playback 2011-08-05 ::: unknown generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette on Nakamichi BX-300 cassette deck, Dolby B on, azimuth adjusted, heads cleaned & demagnatized -> Tascam CD-RW900SL professional CD recorder -> CD-RW -> eac -> wavs. Remastering 2015-03-xx ::: wavs -> Audacity [normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, -2% averaged pitch (speed) fix with single pass after frequency analysis & with pitchpipe verification, with equalisation to increase midrange & bass] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. First uploaded week of 2016-03-xx. Line-up ::: Ashley Hutchings - electric bass, vocals // Simon Nicol - electric guitar, vocals // Steve Ashley - mouth organ, whistle, triangle, vocals // Royston Wood - vocals // Sue Draheim - fiddle // Dave Mattacks - drums. Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline. DimeTravel 291 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! Thanks to UncleBoko for contributing date & location efforts & subsequent confirmation. ::: Corrections welcome ::: I think this is certainly one the best quality unissued Albions of this line-up/era. It took a big step up in listenability after a lot of work on mike bumps, etc. Inspired performance of a classy outfit who were certainly breaking the mold at the time. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace.
