Hello there! So this is what is going on. I am a 20 year old music education major at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. I am half way through my junior year. I play the clarinet.
My dad was laid off a few weeks ago and now we are living off my mom's $15 an hour. Next year my brother will also begin college, causing even more financial strain on my family.
So what can you do? You can send me stuff. Stuff like pocket change, or that money you find in your coat pocket that you didn't know you had. Or just stuff, stuff you think a poor college student could use. I know that times are tough right now, but every little bit helps.
So what am I doing to help myself? Well I am going to college. I am trying to graduate so I can get a good paying job as a teacher. Well maybe just get a job as a teacher. In the meantime, I have a part time job on campus, so I am actually trying to help myself.
And how much money am I looking for? I don't know. Maybe until my dad gets a job, maybe when they start giving us free clarinet reeds and textbooks. Who knows?! I will keep you posted!
