7/28/05: The Shaky Jakes will be playing with Nothing To Loose at Big Nicks Saloon Aug 6th!

The Shaky Jakes are a punk/ska band based in Philadelphia. The origin of the Shaky Jakes can be traced back to their first performance. Tom, Tim, Pete and John, members of the band Counterpoint had decided to form a new band for their school's talent show. The first person they asked to join their new band was lead vocalist Kristen. Next they recruited Lynne Marie to perform in the band as organist/back up vocalist. The band was then completed with the addition of the horn section, Mike, Matt and Ted. They whipped up a tune for the local talent show and won.  The members of the band had so much fun during this performance they decided to continue the band, moving from a side project with one performance to their main focus. The goal of the Shaky Jakes is to have as much fun as possible, which is apparent in their live performances. The Shaky Jakes come and go with the summertime and holidays because they mostly attend colleges outside Philadelphia, so when they do come into town, be prepared to shake your jake.
