SHADOW MAN

He comes out of the shadow,
A knowing smile upon his face.

I can see nothing of him through the mist of my dream-
Only that Cheshire grin.

I have seen him many times before,
In different scenes, different scenarios-
And all the time I know in my heart who he is to me-

My soul mate.

Many doubts arise in my mind:
Who is he?
Will I ever find him?
Is he everything I have always wanted?
Kind?
Gentle?
Smart?
He likes animals and children?

I will never know, for the dream reveals it not.
My heart will keep on calling out for him,
But whether we meet-
Or whether we part-
Is only up to Fate, for only She knows my future.

EMPTY DREAMS

I see my secret wishes every night in my dreams-
Those of love happiness, family, and other aspects of my future,
They were so bright in my youth that the brilliance of them blinded me and caused me to believe that anything I want I could have if only I wished for it hard enough.

With age came my reality.
I secretly wonder if I am to ever be happy, and not haunted by those who have what I cannot seem to gain.

I wander if I will ever be happy with a man, or if I am to be a spinstress forever.
Those that have attained certain levels that I have not fill me with anguish-
For what I long for, a connection with someone who will truly love me and fulfill me emotionally, mentally and physically, others have done only for it to become meaningless.

Will I ever find the one who I will spend my life with? Or will I forever be alone and scared?
Will I ever truly know the true happiness of a soul mate that will keep me safe and cherished?

Secretly, I have longed for children.
I keep it a secret from those I love, but they would know the truth if they were to see me secretly envying those whom are so lucky.
I shall never have any of this that I love, for I am truly cursed to live this desolate life alone, without the companionship of a loved one, a soul mate, whom I secretly wish for, shall never be seen coming my way.

Yet I still keep the spark of hope, for my soul needs the nourishment that only my childish dreams of love and romance shall give me.

FORBIDDEN

To see him fills my heart with pain,
We can never truly have pleasure, only sorrow-
All the obstacles stand in our way,
Great walls of thorns make our hearts bleed with love for one another.

My heart soars with the sight of her,
We can never truly be, but we can never truly part-
The burning in my soul is like Hell’s fire,
But when I’m with her all I need is to see her smile to know that we are one.

His gaze is as intense as the rising sun, making me melt with every look,
He holds me tenderly, every time my sorrow grows -
When we make love, we move as one,
Hearts aching with our Forbidden passion that we know we shouldn’t act upon.

She is immortal and I shall die-
Is it worth a few years happiness?
Does she want to be with me?
As lover?
As companion?
Or has she spoken lies?

What should I tell him?
I know in my mind that we shouldn’t be together-
But my heart aches every time that I am not around him.
Yet, great pain comes from the knowledge that:
You shall Die-and I shall Live on Forever.
Ours is a Forbidden Love.

MORPHEUS

I lose myself in his beautiful eyes every time,
I care and love for him like he is my own child,
His fur is soft like feathers,
He loves to playfully attack me, crouching over like a lion,
Biting, clawing, trying to be a victor in his friendly battle,
He doesn’t say anything, but emotion can be seen,
He lies basking in the sunshine,
He’s a creature of the night, chasing imaginary objects all over the place,
Awake or asleep, he looks like an angel, so innocent, With knowing eyes, golden like the sun.

DESTINY

It’s time that Fate has had a hand,
Fore She has much work to do.

Through the days and the nights-
She leads me to my Destiny.

Though I know not what it is,
I know it is of great importance.

For my dreams lead me upon my path-
That has been set for me before time.

Good and evil have met-
And are now fighting for the crown.

For whichever one wins,
The death toll will be catastrophic-
And there will be Heaven-
Or there will be Hell.

For my destiny ties me into this circle,
Though I know it not.

Fate is a tricky one, who tells me not what I have in store.
I am just to sit and to wait-
And maybe help even the score.
