Q: So how did Already Taken start?
A: Oh man, I would say in one huge complicated way. Me, Abbey and some friends just decided to make a band and it kind of went from there. I honestly at first didn't take it all that seriously.
Q: How much has Already Taken progressed since those first days?
A: ::laughs:: There is basically no way you could
compare us to when we first started. Our style is different, almost all the people are different, it's just a whole new band.
Q: Out of the original band, how many are still members of Already Taken?
A: Me and Abbey. There has been so many people that
have left. But the people we've got now, yeah, they're good.
Q: What is it like being in the same band with your sister?
A: Not really that much different than being with
anybody else. Obviously we're closer than if we weren't siblings but I like her being in the band so much. I'd hate to be the only girl.
Q: What are some of the problems Already Taken has faced in the past?
A: Everything, you name it. I don't really want to go into detail but to summarize: people in the band wanting to date other people in the band, conflicts of styles/personalities, just stuff like that.
Q: Name one thing each of the other band members brings to the group, other than their musical abilities.
A: Hmm, I'll start with Abbey. She brings a lot of
maturity and patience to the band, so I like that. Josh completely understands where I am coming from on everything so that is nice. Brittany is the voice of voices, and Kevin brings his spiritual maturity.
Q: Name one thing you feel you bring to the group other than your guitar playing abilities.
A: ::laughs:: I'll try to be nice. I'd say leadership and my motivation. Sorry, that's all I could think of.
Q: Other than performing, what else does the band do together?
A: We go everwhere. Brittany and I are in a small group together. And all of us(technically) are on the Joy Team together. So we see each other basically all the time.br>
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: Hmm, I like to read a lot. But movies would be my biggest thing. I love watching old movies so much.
Q: What would you say is your weirdest hobbie?
A: I'd say my obsession now with all the classic
films, ::laughs:: I can't get enough of them.
Q: Are there any practical jokers or jokes within the band?
A: Josh, I mean that pretty much says it all. But for the record I'll jot some inside jokes out. "Wolverines!" "Look at that big H man, you could like wear it around your neck." "Would you like a
filafel with that?" "..Oh wait, that does look like a meridian that I'm driving over"
Q: If I handed you a check for $1,000,000, what would you do with it?
A: I'd adopt as many kids as I could. Hmm, then I'd
probably get all the DVD"s and guitars that I want. Then I'd invest it, and sporadically travel around the world.
Q: What are some of the interesting stories about
Already Taken that most people don't know?
A: How we got our band name.
Q: What are some events that have impacted your life?
A: I wouldn't say any particular one, because I don't think I'm that kind of person. So any one event hasn't really impacted me, people more.
Q: How big of a role does God play in your life?
A: Huge. I would not even closely resemble the person I am today if it weren't for Him. He's my boy.
Q: How well does Already Taken work together?
A: Ahh, ok. Depends on what mood we're in, or how much time we spend with each other. I'm probably the hardest one to work with at times, haha.
Q: Is it hard being in a band composed of females and males?
A:No, not really. We're all even so it's good. We're one big family.
Q: How did you first get started in playing the guitar?
A: When I was younger I played piano and clarinet for a long time, and I guess I just got sick of them. So then I bought a guitar and taught myself. And here I am.
Q: Whats the hardest gig you've ever played?
A: kids crusade last summer. It was just a really rough time for the band.
Q: How would you describe the other band members?
A: Abbey's extremely mature, serious, down to earth. Josh: the most loyal person ever. An amazing friend which I would be lost without. Brittany: caring, kind, and creative. Kevin: dedicated, heart for worship. And Miranda(myself): very driven, motivated, ambitious.
Q: What do you think the biggest plus of being in Already Taken is?
A: The money! ::laughs:: just kidding. Just being able to actually write our own songs and have fun.
Q: Last question: In your opinion, where is Already Taken headed in the future?
A: Wherever God takes us.
