• At my first competition, I had a little uniform trouble. The pants were too long. During the show, we were running to change equipment between songs. Well, I suddenly took a nosedive onto the field. I was so humiliated, but I recovered. Then, after that song, we ran to change equipent again and I fell AGAIN!! But, this time it was in front of the band and on the FIFTY YARD LINE!! To make matters worse, a fellow guardie tried to help me up by grabbing my shoulder. Well, she missed my shoulder and got the neck of my uniform instead! Talk about whiplash! On the videotape, you can see my whiplash experience and some members of the band (who were at a hold) flinching forward in an effort to help me without moving. It was AWFUL!
• At our third competition, we had to perform in the gym cuz the field was flooded. So, we're in their performing and all is well. Until we get to the song where we danced with these really awful fans. There was this part where we had to extend our arm quickly. Upon doing this, one of our guard members went a little overboard and somehow sent her fan flying across the gym. To make matters worse, she walked over there in the middle of the song and retreived it. Needless to say, we got some points off, but we still got Best Guard.
