Our first gig was announced on the John Peel show.
The Lets Go supplement of the Bury Free Press:
I also caught the end of The White Trashs incendiary set which drew
raucous reactions from the crowd. Although I didnt see the whole thing, they seemed
a promisingly rowdy and animated band with enough edge to make a mark on the scene.

Live Review from Drowned in Sound website:
"And then theWhiteTRASH – line-up sorted, fully-formed and ready to take over the world with beautiful and perceptive lyrics combined with hard, grunge-tinged punk rock. Loud, but never sacrificing substance to noise, with Siouxie and the Banshees vocals and a fine line in posing and pouting. Front-girl Sarah has amazing stage-presence to match her amazing voice, dancing like a girl possessed while the bassist and guitarists throw shapes and fling themselves about as though born to do so. And it’s only their fifth gig… keep your eyes out for these guys. They’re ace."

"THE WHITE TRASH ARE TOO YOUNG, TOO PRETTY, TOO MESSED UP, TOO PISSED TO STAND UP, AND SARAH ONLY INTENDS TO EULOGISE THE WHOLE SCHMESS IN VERSE BEFORE THE WHITE TRASH COLLAPSE AT THE SOUND GUY’S FEET MOANING FOR ONE MORE BOTTLE OF ICE DRAGON. IT MAKES ME LONESOME FOR THE HIP DOWN, AND I LOVE THEM FOR IT."

"If merely deserving to be famous was all it took, then Sarah and Julia Trash would be bigger than Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed and Bono by now; in a parallel Universe, where we get what we deserve, they're already touring enormodromes throughout the galaxy in a gigantic spaceship, built to their own specifications in the shape of an arse, and powered by liquid cheese. Meanwhile, back in this dimension, they're not that big just yet. So you'll just have to wait, wontchaaa?"
BurySOUND 2002 review:
"The night kicked off with The White Trash bringing out the keyboard for a cover of ‘Feeling Good’. The strong vocals of the only female fronted band making it into the competition this year, played though a well rehearsed set of alt-rock before walking off the stage with the guitars feeding back."
BurySOUND 2002 review from MMMMJuicy:
"Drawn first up were The White Trash, who kicked off their set with a storming version of ‘Feeling Good’, as recently covered by Muse. It was a stunning choice, with the song suiting vocalist Sarah’s voice and the band’s dark aesthetic perfectly. The rest of the set was equally well executed, and rapturously received by the crowd. A profusion of rock star poses, entertaining between-song banter and occasional references to disgraced TV personalities were also included to further enrich a fine collection of songs."
