1992 saw PANTERA release VULGAR DISPLAY OF POWER. This album produced the first ever heavy metal single to debut at #1, MOUTH FOR WAR. Videos were shot for the singles MOUTH FOR WAR, THIS LOVE, and WALK. Not only were these videos also shown on MTV’s HEADBANGERS BALL, the show also used a snippet of FUCKING HOSTILE as the HEADBANGERS BALL theme song. Touring alongside MEGADETH, WHITE ZOMBIE, SACRED REICH, SKID ROW, and SOUNDGARDEN opened the band up to a broader fan base… and also converted many hard rockers into full blown metal heads.
