Natalie's (na-chan's) Aggie Story
Aggie stories and suchThe Aggie last night was TOO much fun! It was definitely the best and funnest concert I've been to so far. So here's my story...
I met Laurel outside of the China Palace, and we waited for everyone else for awhile. She showed me the ARTicle that was in the paper the day before, and we hung out and read it and talk about how stupid it was that they spelled Sven's last name wrong. So it's been like 10 minutes, and suddenly we see this car drive by with green ? marks all over it.. then we hear people screaming at us from inside the car, so we knew it was Melanie and the gang. We go inside and sit down and Donna and her kids show up a few minutes later.
So we're all just talking, and then Melanie said something, I can't even remember what, but we all started looking out the window, and John walks by! We all started waving at him and we must have looked like a big bunch of dorks, but hey. Then John starts waving back and plasters himself against the window. Ah it was great! Then we ordered our food... and we ate it in like 10 minutes, because we knew it was after 8:00, and that meant we couldn't be the first in line. But while we were eating Melanie MADE me eat a piece of tofu or something... or else I'd have to give Ben his necklace! And I wasn't going to do that! We left the resteraunt at like 8:05-8:10 and we all ran over to the Aggie... it almost felt like we were in the video "Live Show Rumble," but we didn't get beat with the leg when we got there.
We get to the Aggie and we buy our tickets and find out that they were only $6, and Laurel had paid $10 earlier that day. So Donna fixes that, and Laurel gets her money back. We go in and they don't even seem to care that I'm under 18... or maybe they couldn't tell I was under 18.... I dunno.... oh well, atleast I got in... that's all I wanted. I see Ben on stage and I'm like "there's Ben!" and then Melanie remembers she forgot his necklace, and I remember I forgot my cameras at the resteraunt, so we sprint back to get them. Then we run back to the Aggie and re-enter. We all just hang out and talk for the 45 minutes before Battery Park starts.
Battery Park started a little while later... their guitar player we thought was a John wannabe. At first we kinda almost thought it was John...because it was really dark inside the Aggie, and he was wearing black jeans and stuff... but once they actually started playing and the lights were on him we could tell it wasn't John. Battery Park was actually pretty good, although I kept counting down the minutes before ART started. Rochelle got a CD that they threw out into the crowd!
Once Battery Park was done they took all of their stuff off of the stage, and then we just sat there for awhile and did nothing, because they wern't doing anything. So then Ben comes out for a little while, and we had seen Matt a little bit before, but then he comes on stage too. Now the only one we haven't seen is Sven.... and we don't see him until all of the guys are ready to play and then Sven hops on stage at the beginning of Conlusions. And the show begins..... I definitely liked the first set better... they had some new songs... like "Goldfish for a Day." I stood in the front row... almost in the center.... it was totally awesome cause every once in awhile Sven or Matt would look at me. YAY! I got quite a few pictures... mostly of Ben because he was the easiest to get. I ALSO caught another Ben drumstick! It even is complete with Ben blood! (That makes it much better than the one I got at New West Fest. )
Once the first set is over I go and get a few stickers... and so do Melanie and Rochelle. Then we just hang out for awhile, because first we find Ben, but we need Rochelle to be there too... so then we find Rochelle, but then Ben disappears... so once we find him I yell to Melanie that we HAVE to go see him NOW! She tells me she's scared of him... but I drag her over anyway. So then Ben sees me... and he's like "Natalie Pinkerton!"... yeah.. um... I guess he knows who I am now.... but then we tell him we have something for him. So Mel gives him the necklace... and we show him that we all have them too! So then he says some stuff, and we say some stuff.... almost like a conversation! No! And then they all went on stage again.
So second set they play a lot of songs... most of which I don't know. <--haha... but anyways... so then they get to Greedmachine, and Laurel gets to give Sven her dollar bill! YAY! After the song, there's a lot of money on the stage! Like more money than there ever has been! Oh yeah, this was towards the end of the second set, but somehow Ben hit his eye... I felt really bad for him. So their last song was Big City, and I was scared that the Aggie was going to make them stop because it was 1:04 AM, but they didn't! Yipee!
Once the whole concert was over, I asked Sven for his set list, and I got it.. SWEET! So then we show everyone our spiffy necklaces, and then I have to go have my Ben drumstick signed. He gives us a quick drumstick twirling lesson, it was pretty cool... he was like "this is really easy," but it really wasn't... So then no one has any sharpies...(marpies..lol) so Ben has to go find some... and some other girl wants one of his drumsticks too.. so then he goes and finds a drumstick for her, but then I finally get my drumstick signed. And then we go and talk to Sven and Amber. We show Sven our necklaces, and then Matt gives him his pocket present from Africa, and then Melanie gives him pogs. We talk for a few minutes, but then it's time to say goodbye, because by then almost everyone's gone from the Aggie theater. We walk out the of the Aggie theater, and then I just have to steal another poster.... this time it's not a nifty one in color though. We all say goodbye, (insert Melanie's part of the story here...) and then I make my mom drive by Big City Burrito to go and steal their posters too, but someone's already stolen them! Oh well... atleast I have two now!
