Magnus, Greeley. (July, 6 2001)
The first Greeley show since UNC in Febuary...
At a bar in the "downtown" plaza...

Bar = 21...
DEVASTATION!!!!
Becuase I am part of the Greeley Love how can I miss this show??
Well, I am going even if I have to stand outside and grove to the music there. It just so happens that I work with some people who are over 21. ^_^ And I am a trickster. Everyone who I know who is over 21 is going to this thing whether they like it or not. Serena is going, Erin is going, Holly is going, and Toby is going. Hopefully I'll be able to convince Lisa and Alex to go as well! It will be great! All these people in place of me.
Serena has heard about what she is doing July 6th since June and she is so going!!! She has said a few times that she's going to have to tell the band to make sure to say hi to me outside because I made her and her friends go.
Little does Serena know, I am going to be inside with her! It will be a tad bit awkward. See, I have to go with my mom. It won't be too bad for me, she needs to see this awesome band anyway. But yeah, awkwardness. It's alright 'cause. ^_^
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
The Greeley Love will not be denied becuase Rochelle is going too! Whahahahahaha!
Post Show Story...
Enter Melanie and her mother...
I dash home after work to fetch my mother so we can hit the Magnus as soon as possible,
as to not miss any of the show. When we arrive I almost have a spaz, the guy asks me for
an ID! AGH! I’m under 21! But my mommy is there, I must get in! So after a short and
quite painless two minutes of discussion I went in and found a table at which to sit. I
made sure that there were enough places for all the people who were going to be coming.
But my mommy insisted that there was a better table over on the other side. As it turned
out she was right! So we sat there and I explained who each of the band members were,
John, Ben-without shoes, Matt, and Sven.
Enter Rochelle, Matt, and Matt’s mommy...
If Rochelle and Matt had any trouble getting in to the joint, I was not made aware of it.
Soon, Rochelle’s Dad and younger brother who is 9 come traipsing in. We have picked a
great table and can’t wait till the show starts!
They begin with a new song that we hadn’t heard before, it was called “Flyway.”
Awesome, except for one thing. The sound system is rather on the crappy side. Sven has
to move this way and that way to keep the microphone from squealing. In spite of all the
feedback and squeals I highly enjoyed the show. It was great! And to be able to see our
band in Greeley, even if it’s with our parents is still great!
Not only did we get to hear one new song, but two more. It was the first time the band
had played together in about two weeks and the first time these songs had been played as
a band! We got to hear “Give the Kid A Chance.” A very good song including some
wahh-oh-wooahh-oh’s! Exhirilation!
The Magnus is a bar, so of course there is going to be some rather drunk people. Just
how drunk this one person was, no one will ever know (I don’t think he could have
looked himself in the mirror without falling down, or do anything else without falling).
This guy would jump around and run into Sven, Matt, and John. Ben was safely shielded
by the drums. A couple of times this guy tried to yell into the microphone. Another time
he knocked over some of the speakers. Rochelle almost lunged at the guy to save the
band from more harassment. And Rochelle’s dad was not too impressed either.
But on to a much more happier part of the story...
Now here is where a tradition begins and a story unfolds. Rochelle and Matt had just
come a picnic and a play at UNC, for some reason Rochelle had plastic ants. She wanted
to give Sven a plastic ant. After the show, we went to talk to them, just like normal. So
we tell Sven that we have something for him. We give him the plastic ant and he tells us
that it’s cool because he has this dream about being an 80 year-old grandpa who has
interesting things in his pockets. People will never know what 80 year-old Sven is going
to pull out of his pockets next. From this show on, the Greeley Love will always bring
something to help Sven’s dream along.
And no, Serena didn't go, and I even gave her four dolars to go. Not only did I give her four dollars, but I also gave her four dollars for her roommate to go aswell. TURDS! They are going the next time if I have to drag them by their scalps!
