7th National Schools Championships
Looks like the day does not belongs to Emery Ong. This was evident when he found out at the
7th National Schools Tenpin Bowling Championships held at the Singapore Bowling Academy.
Despite scoring his personal best of series high of 821 pinfalls for four games, averaging 205.30, Emery did not make it to the top two positions
and had to be contented with a bronze. It was rather unfortunate as he was neck to neck in
his 3rd game in contention for the 1st spot, finally had to bow out in his final game when he
bowled 203 pinfalls against 224.
The Doubles Event saw Captain Vincent Chan partnered Choo
ZhengXi pounded their way to clinch the 1st Silver medal. While our foursome comprises of
Emery Ong, Gilson Chan, Marc Fong and Mark Cheong picked up the 2nd Silver.
Despite the remarkable scores recorded by our bowlers, led by the team captain Vincent Chan, Gilson Chan, Emery Ong and Mark Cheong, once again, they could only settled for the 1st Runner-up titles with 34 points as compared to 22 points recorded by ACS (Br).
