Venue For 8th National Schools Championships
The date set forth for the 8th National Schools Tenpin Bowling Championships which will roll
off from 27th - 30th March 2001. The venue selected has been welcome by all as this year it will
be staged at the brand new Cathay Bowl situated at the Yishun Safra Country Club which was opened
on 1st February 2001.
A record number of more than 30 Secondary Schools with over 100 bowlers
eyeing for the 12 medals at stake. As in the past, the 'B' Division has all along been a very
heavy contested competition ever since it makes its debut in 1994, a number of other schools has also co-opted bowling into their
CCA curriculum as such the competition will no doubt be very competitive this year.

While all eyes are focused on both the ACS schools, ACS (Br) aren't taking any chances and as last year defending Champions, once again they has vowed to retain their Championships titles for a third consecutive year, while ACS (I)'s coach, Mr Francis Yeo is very optimistic that their
bowlers may be lucky to retain the 1st Runner-up titles, lucky indeed maybe! is any body guess. The
teachers-in-charge, Mrs Judy Ho has this to add "Give your Best, it's anybody game" perhaps she was
right, its anybody game, a smiling Mrs. Goretti Mohan was quick to respond and I quote, "Keep on smiling during the game...laugh..laugh..laugh..relax and...see the miracle working..." who knows, perhaps she was right to see our bowlers laughing and smiling with the return of the Championships Titles which has eluded them for 3 long years.
Meantime the morale of our boys are high and the feelings within the training camp are somewhat mixed as the competition draws nearer. One thing for sure in the minds of our bowlers are that the euphoria of winning will prevails as "The Best Is Yet to Be"
