Poems to Dennis

These are some poems I have wrote to my precious Dennis. We love you always Dennis.

The Doctor said...

The doctor said,
You are dead.
You are still within my womb,
But your heart has ceased to beat.
You will stay with me until Friday,
Then they will induce labor
And you will be born
Born surely, but born dead,
I think my heart will break.
For you are a part of me,
Yet you are your own person.
Losing you is like
Losing my arm;
Losing a part of myself.
It may heal,
But will never grow back,
Never be the same.
Although unborn
You have touched my life
And changed me.
I know you,
For I have felt you growing inside,
I have felt your movements,
And heard your heart beating.
We were one,
Yet we were seperate.
Now you are gone,
How do I go on?

My Womb
My womb...
It has become a tomb.
For your heart has ceased its beating.
Your body is still here,
But your spirit has gone.
My womb so empty now,
So still.
A place of death
Where death
Should not be.

A womb
Is a place for life
It is not supposed to be
A place where death happens.
Buth death marched in
And steathily stole you
From my womb.
For you are gone now,
Lost to death,
But yet, not lost;
For you are with Jesus
In Heaven.
You will never feel
The pain of this world;
But I will never again
Hold you in this world either.
Will never celebrate your birthday
With you,
Will never hear your first words,
Watch your first steps
Or cuddle you again to my breast.

You are gone,
But never forgotten.
Unknown to most,
But always loved.
You were so special
That God chose you
To go home
Even before your birth.
My only consolation
Is that you
Are with Jesus.
He is holding you
Until someday I can,
My precious baby boy.

My empty womb,
A tomb now;
So empty,
So still.
Flatter day by day,
Evidence of your having gone.
My precious,
Tiny,
Baby boy.
Your body beneath the ground
But your spirit
In Heaven with Jesus.

It's two weeks today
Since we buried you
Our precious baby boy
Unborn
But much loved
And much wanted.
It broke our hearts
To lose you
Our only consolation
Knowing you are with Jesus.

Empty arms
Full Breasts
Broken heart.

For I will never hold you again,
Never nurse you,
Never know you.
