Welcome to the Family Favorites

This is my Grandma and her life long friend Pat Norton on the wintery streets of Calgary Alberta with two of my sisters, Birdie and Heather.

For those wintery days Grandma may make:

Rolled Cookies

Recipe from Bud’s Mothers
(thats Grandpa's mom)

1 Cup Butter
2 Cups Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
2 ½ Teaspoon Vanilla
¼ Cup Sweet Milk
1 Teaspoon Soda
2 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
5 Cups Flour
Mix together Butter, brown sugar, Eggs and vanilla, add rest of ingredients and mix. Bake in quick oven at 425.

You will notice her recipes are short and sweet. She figured everyone should know to roll out the dough
after all they are not called rolled cookies for nothing.

She wasn't a lady for wasteing time or paper alot of these recipes are on scraps of paper she put in a scrap book. That scrap book is my most prized possession.

Now on to the harvest. She did so love to garden and always had a huge vegetable garden. Could feed an army and when we all got together it was almost like feeding an army.
