The purpose of Rescue 15 is to provide the community and surrounding area with a highly trained, rapid response search & rescue organization for land, air and marine incidents. Along with SAR coverage, Rescue 15 aids the local emergency commitee with response to other natural and man made disasters

Rescue 15 is dedicated to the prevention of lost or injured persons in the outdoors. Rescue 15 provides free boat examinations for all vessels under 20 tons and marine safety training classes, these programs are sponsored by the Canadian Coast Guard. Along with marine prevention Rescue 15 strives to educate young children and adults in wilderness survival, by classroom talks and displays at the local shopping malls.

Rescue 15 works closely with local fire departments, B.C. Ambulance Services, RCMP, Canadian and US Coast Guard, CASARA, Canadian Armed Forces and other SAR agencies in the region.
