Wrath of the Eldar

By Damo

“Look at the crude, clumsy Mon Keigh machines as they try to find us.” Exarch Raphal exclaimed to his squad of Fire Dragons, “Eral, Fras, I want you two to stand infront of the vehicle while the rest of us circle around to behind it, on my command everyone will fire. Clear”

As the rest of the Aspect warriors signalled their readiness the tank swung its turret round and fired a shell that landed just six feet away from their concealed position sending up a shower of shrapnel and dust, which gave the Fire Dragons the preciou
seconds that were needed to get into position.

“Fire.” Exarch Raphal shouted, and as one, the Aspect Warriors of the Dragon Temple opened fire and the Imperial Tank disappeared under the fire of the melta weapons, appeared for a few moments, then exploded with a ferocity expected only by the death of a star and the Fire Dragons scrambled for cover, but not quick enough, Fras and Dreon were caught in the fireball and were killed instantly, but the rest of the squad dived behind a large boulder straight into a squad of Imperial Guard Soldiers.

“Charge!” The order came simultaneously from both the Sergeant and the Exarch, and both squads of troops reacted instantly. In a few short moments the Imperial Guard troops all lay dead and the Eldar left to three of their original number, plus their Exarch.

“Collect the Waystones then move out, we have a mission to complete.”
