The Detroit Pistons announced today national recording artists Backstreet Boys will sing the national anthem prior to the team's home opener on Nov. 5, 1999 at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The Pistons will face the defending Eastern Conference Champion New York Knicks that night at 8 p.m. Avid basketball fans, Backstreet Boys will be in town preparing for the group's three sold-out shows at The Palace from Nov. 6-8. The band's newest release, ``Millennium'', has sold more than eight million copies to date.
