When I was in 6th grade, I began to browse the four shelves of books that made up our 6th grade library. I picked up a book called Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey and immediately fell in love. It was my first McCaffrey book, as well as my first Fantasy/Sci Fi book (outside of C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia.). Since that fateful day, I've been addicted to both. Anne McCaffrey has a wide variety of books, from the Dragonriders of Pern books to the Rowan Series (also known as The Tower and the Hive). All of them are classified as Sci Fi, though the Pern books feel more like fantasy to me. I can't quite tell you why I love McCaffrey so much, except maybe to say that she creates worlds so real that I don't just want to read about them, I want to live in them. Below I've listed her books with an asterisk beside the ones I've read. If the books are a part of a series, I've tried to list them in order. Hopefully I'll get short summaries/reviews of each of them up soon. Pern has its own page. *Please bear with me as I create this list! I know it's not complete - I'm getting there!*
