Chapter 16
*The day of the wedding*
I woke up, tuned my alarm off and tried to go back to sleep, then realized it is
Christine’s big day.
In a way I am envious of her. She gets the perfect man with whom she is very happy with
and I can’t find anybody. The sad thing is both friends will be married off and I don’t
even have a boyfriend!
I got out of bed then headed to my closet. I then pulled out my bridesmaid dress. Ever
since Christine was little she had liked the color purple so she decided that Gina and my
dress would be a purple lavender color.
It took me and Gina twice as long to find the dress as it did to find Christine’s dress. I
am just glad we found something. If it looked great on Gina, it didn’t fit me, if I looked
great in it, it didn’t fit Gina. I am not looking for another dress the rest of the year I am
so sick of shopping.
I slipped the dress on, then got myself ready. Christine wanted me to meet her at the
church fully dressed and ready to go.
*At the church-
”Oh no, where are my shoes?” Christine asked worriedly.
“They are on the chair next to the table.” Christine’s mom said calmingly.
Christine nervously walked over to the chair and slipped on her shoes. “I am so
nervous.” she said slipping on her white heels.
“Christine don’t worry. This is supposed to be one of the best days of your life and you
shouldn’t be nervous. You and Dan are a perfect couple and you both will be good to
each other. Don’t worry about getting married at all. It isn’t that bad, you can ask your
sister.” I said reassuring her.
“Ya, marriage isn’t that bad, until you have to clean the bathroom, and remind him to
keep the toilet seat down.” She said joking around.
We all laughed. “See marriage could be fun!” I told her.
“Don’t worry.” Gina said. “I was this nervous, but I never showed it on my wedding
day. Just go through it and then you will be the happiest person I have ever seen.”
After things calmed down a bit, Christine was getting her hair fixed by Gina and I.
“Cindy, I forgot to tell you this, but I think you should know.” Christine said
looking at me through the mirror in front of her. “Trent is going to be Dan’s best man.”
“What?” I asked putting down my hands and stared at her through the mirror. “Dan’s
best man is his brother.” Gina kept styling Christine’s hair.
“Ya, until he broke his ankle skiing two days ago.”
“What does this mean?” I asked.
“You’ll have to dance one dance with him.”
My stomach formed a knot. I didn’t want to see Trent again. The type of man he is, he
will hit on me again. “Great” I said rolling my eyes I picked up her hair again.
Christine smiled, “Don’t worry about it, I think it will be the last thing on your mind.”
“What is that supposed to mean.”
“Oh, nothing.” She said.
Gina and I finished Christine’s hair and we put her veil on. She looked so nice in her
dress.
“We’re ready for you now.” Christine and Gina’s dad said walking into the room. “Oh,
you look so nice.” he told Christine as he gave her a hug. “Both of my girls are going to
be married. I feel so old.” Everyone in the room laughed a bit. “Are you ready?” He
asked her. She shook her head yes and we all formed a line leading out into the church
isle.
Butterflies filled my stomach and I wondered how Christine felt, for this was her last
day of being single.
