Chapter 17

The music started and my heart pounded. I followed Gina out into the isle of the church holding my bouquet of white roses.
As I walked out I realized how many people were invited. The place was packed in with people. As I walked down I felt as if all the eyes were on me.
I walked down steadily looking ahead the whole time. I tried to look at the walls of the church which were draped in white and lavender roses. I looked over at Dan standing proudly. I suddenly made eye contact with Trent who was already at the front standing next to Dan.
Trent smiled at me. I didn’t smile back, I just ignored him, and looked away.
When I stood at the front next to Gina, Christine came out walking with her dad at her side. She immediately looked over at Dan and smiled at him. If I wasn’t mistaken, I could swear a tear fell down her eye. She was happy and it showed. I was happy for her, she had found that certain someone that she would love the rest of her life.

*the reception-
Christine and Dan danced a song alone on the grass. The reception was being held at a park which in itself was fun and romantic. There were bushes everywhere and a white Gazebo surrounding us. Then there were little dirt paths going out beyond the bushes.
I was sitting down at a table with Christine, Dan, Gina and Josh. A song came on after Christine and Dan danced. Gina went with Josh as I sat alone at the table.
“Cindy would you dance with me?” Trent asked coming up to me. I knew this is what Christine was saying about me having to dance with him.
“I guess.” I said standing up from the table.
“So how have you been doing?” Trent asked as we danced. He acted like he was
interested in me. ‘What a dork’ I thought to myself trying my hardest not to laugh out loud. “Good.” I said trying to let him have the idea that I wasn’t interested.
As I danced with Trent I just looked off over his shoulder and tried to ignore the fact that I was dancing with him. The last time I saw Trent was the night I met Brian. The day, which was over three months ago felt like yesterday. I couldn’t believe how excited I was to meet Trent. He ended up to be a real big loser. If it weren’t for the date I would have never met Brian, yet sometimes I regret meeting him. If I never met him, I would have never got into the fight and I wouldn’t be so frustrated and mad.
Another song came on and more people started to filter to the dancing section of the grass.
“One more dance?” Trent asked. I thought a second then looked over at the main table. I had nothing else to do except sit and rot at an empty table, so I agreed to one more slow song.
I danced with him and was almost bored to tears. The song playing was starting to feel like it was never ending.
“Excuse me, can I cut in?” someone asked behind me.
I turned around and Brian was standing in front of me.
