Chapter 19
When we came back to the wedding, I noticed everyone was finished dancing and were now
all sitting in tables.
Christine saw my coming holding Brian’s hand. She smiled at me. I smiled back. I was so
greatful to her for bringing Brian to me. I made a mental note to thank her later.
When Brian and I entered, they started the “thank yous” and the toasts. Gina went up first to
make her speech.
“Christine, I am so happy for you. You can take it from me, marrage life has it’s many
blessings. Waking up every morning to the person you love most in life, is one of the best
things that will ever happen to you.” Gina looked over at Josh and grinned. “You wake up
realising you have something to live for. Every waking and sleeping hour, that person is next
to you in everything you do. It is the most joyous feeling you will ever feel.”
“There are times when marrage life isn’t that great, like waking up in the morning and going
into the bathroom. The bathroom can be a nightmare after a man is in there.” Everyone
laughed.
“Even with the bad, comes the good and the married life has that, but the nicest thing about
that is, you get to spend all the good and the bad with the person you love.”
“You are my
sister and I love you so much. I know you will be so happy married, and I wish you the best.”
Gina stepped off of the podium and her parents came on and made a little speech.
After their speeches, I decided I wanted to say something. I stood up and made my way to
the podium.
“Not being married, I don’t know how much guidence I can give to you. What I do know, is
how life can be so lonely without anyone there by your side. About 6 months ago, I thought
love was just something I didn’t need in my life. Now, I realize that I couldn’t live without the
one I love.” I looked over at Brian. “I think I have finally found love, and I don’t ever want to
go back to being without love. Christine, I want you to be happy, and I hope you can realize
how lucky you are to have found someone so early. I am so happy for you, and I hope you
two can spend the rest of your lives happily.” Christine and Dan looked at eachother and
smiled as I walked down from the podium.
I sat at a table sitting next to Gina and Brian as Dan cut the first peice of the cake. They bth
shoved the cake into eachother’s mouths and everyone else laughed.
30 min. later-
I finally had time to pull Christine away from the crowd after all the presents and talking
ended.
I took her to a deserted place in the park.
“Christine, I would like to thank you for bringing Brian and I back together. If you never
invited him we wouldn’t have been back together.” I told her.
“I saw how unhappy you were without him and so I thought you could get some help getting
together again.”
“Know what, you were the one who set me up with Trent. If I never went that night, i would
have never met Brian. Then when Brian and I break up, you put us back together. You are
like my relationship gardien angle. I am so glad to have you as a friend.”
“I am glad to heve you as a friend too.” She hugged me. “I would have never had this
wedding as quickly as I did if you weren’t here, you helped so much with it.”
“That’s what friends are for.”
“Of course, friends forever.”
