I am of the belief that to be truly sincere about a religous or "spiritual" belief, you don't have to have the whole world know about it in order to validate it for yourself. The sincerity of all these people running around talking about enlightenment is non-existent. If it's not reported in the latest issue of People, well, it may as well not have happened.
A spiritual celebrity is an oxymoron. These people have about as much sincerity as a TV evangelist begging little old ladies to send them their social security checks. They somehow expect us to believe that they are somehow "above" us mere mortals because they go to yoga classes. Fuck off!
The worst tho is when models talk about being "spiritual". One of my guilty pleasures is watching E! (I don't know why I do it to myself, I end up pissed off and bitter.) You know how they have those totally mindless shows about models and shit and how wonderful their lives are? There was one on model weddings (barf) and I swear to God I heard at least three models saying just how "spiritual" the ceremony was. It's become like this buzzword of the moment. What's that all about? "Spirituality" is a better fad than heroin, but just barely. At least with heroin these people weren't acting morally superior to everyone else.
