The Black Lioness
Rum Tum Tugger woke up after a terrible night. Macavity almost stole
away Demeter and he, Munkustrap, and Mungojerrie had gotten their tails
whipped. The tribe ran to this place for cover. He got up and stretched
and he looked around. Where were they? He looked around and he saw
trees, a stream, trees, trees, and what a surprise! More trees! He
started towards the stream and he started to drink the cool water.
Suddenly he saw something move across the water, at first glance you
would think it was Mistoffelees but this was a girl! She was all black
and she was very beautiful. When she got to the river back she sniffed
and yellow flower. Tugger rubbed his eyes and when he opened them again
she was gone. Could she have been a dream? On the count of what happened
last night anything was possible. "Tugger! Where are you Tugger?" called
Munkustrap. Tugger slowly turned around and went back. "You won't
believe what I just saw!" said Tugger as he rejoined the tribe. "I just
saw a female cat walk across the stream, and was she a baaaaa…of course
not a beautiful as you Bom." Said Tugger rubbing his foot that
Bombalurina stomped.
"You must have been seeing things Tugger, Coricopat and Tantomile said
no one else was here." Said Munkustrap. Tugger just shrugged. Soon
Victoria and Jemima went exploring. Something slipped by them and went
into the tribe's camp. Electra started to go on her own adventure and
something followed her as well. Electra stopped a little ways from the
camp, she felt like she was being watched. She turned around and saw a
black female cat.
"Maybe Tugger was telling the truth." Said Electra. "Hello, my name isElectra"
"Hello, my name is Electra." The cat said and she made a face that said,
"What are you talking about". "Um…What is your name?" asked Electra. The
cat took her paws up to her chest and said, "Blacknight." "Hello
Blacknight. Would you like to meet the Jellicles?" asked Electra.
"Jel…Jelly…" said Blacknight. "Jellicles. Come on." Said Electra and
pulled Blacknight towards the camp.
The Jellicles looked up and saw who Electra's friend was. "That's her!
She's the one I saw!" said Tugger and Blacknight looked around and had
no clue what every one was saying. Munkustrap came up and said, "Welcome
to the Jellicle tribe. My name is Munkustrap and this is our leader Old
Deuteronomy." Blacknight grunted and nodded. Every one was shocked, no
one ever grunted at Old Deuteronomy! "She doesn't understand us." Said
Electra; "She doesn't even understand me!" Every one looked at the new
cat, didn't understand them? What world was this cat from? Mars? Alonzospoke up.
"Misto is there any way you can talk to her?" asked Alonzo. Misto shied,
"I'll try." And he put his hand to her forehead. "Wow, her parents
are…are…" started Misto. "Are what?" asked Tugger. Misto's head shot up,
"LIONS!" he yelled. "Are we in a zoo?" asked Cassandra. Misto nodded,
"Yes, she says that we are. She also says theirs nothing to fear we are
safe. Her father knows we're here. She also says she wants to know."
Said Misto. "Know what?" asked Old Deuteronomy. "Everything." Said Misto
and looked at Old Deuteronomy. "Well, if she wants to know she'll
learn." He said. Every morning Blacknight came to the tribe and soon she
knew how to talk. One day Blacknight saw Rumpelteazer looking at
something. "What's up?" Blacknight asked. "Nothing." Rumpelteazer said.
Blacknight looked at what Rumpelteazer was looking at. "All I see is
Pecion flirting with Mungojerrie." Pecion was the newest cat besides
Blacknight. Pecion liked Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer liked Mungojerrie.
"Yeah, I know." Said Rumpelteazer and she looked away. Blacknight looked
at her and sat down next to her. "Pecion isn't Mungojerrie's type,
believe me." Said Blacknight. "You really think so." Said Rumpelteazer
looking at Blacknight. Rumpelteazer shoot a glance at her dream tom one
more time and then took a walk with Blacknight.
The next day Cassandra and Demeter took a walk around the zoo; suddenly
a man with a net came running after them. The two started to run back to
the lion cage, "Split up!" yelled Cassandra. The two ran in different
directions, when Demeter got back to the lion cage see didn't see
Cassandra anywhere. The Jellicles looked up when they saw Demeter and
then Cassandra can up behind Demeter. "They know were here." Said
Cassandra. "Who knows?" asked Blacknight. "Man." Said Demeter.
Blacknight shuddered, before the pride of lions found her Man had taken
away Blacknight's older sister. "What's wrong Blacknight?" asked
Mistoffelees. "I guess I should tell you." Said Blacknight and began to
tell the tribe about her past.
"You see, my Lion mother, Vitani, had a cub named Tadpa. She would be
queen after my father, Kapasa, gave the throne to her. But one night Man
came in and took my sister away, my parents tried their best to save
her…but Tadpa is gone. The next day I was found and made part of the
tribe, a dog killed my real mother and father. Right now my little
brother, Niba, will be king when my father turns over the throne to him
and he will marry Allah."
"Blacknight, do you remember your parents names?" asked Jennyanydots.
"Yes, my mothers name is Nefat and my fathers name was Kann." Said
Blacknight. Every one looked at Blacknight. "What?" she asked. "Can I
talk with you Blacknight?" asked Mistoffelees. "Sure." She said and thetwo left.
"Blacknight, I need to tell you something. My aunt and uncle are your
mother and father." Said Mistoffelees. Blacknight's head shot up. "You
mean that I'm your older cousin?" she asked. "Yep." Said Misto. "Cool."
Said Misto and Blacknight together.3 weeks after Blacknight and Mistoffelees found out they were related
Old Deuteronomy was thinking about moving back to the junkyard. "Why
must you leave? It is safe here, really." Said Blacknight. "Blacknight,
the junkyard is our home. How would you feel if you left the zoo
forever?" asked Old Deuteronomy. "I see your point. I will miss you."
Said Blacknight. "Why don't you come with us Blacknight?" asked
Munkustrap. "I wish I could, but my father may not let me go." Said
Blacknight. "Why don't you ask him?" asked Munkustrap, "You are full
grown. It won't hurt to ask." Blacknight shied. "I guess your right.
I'll go ask." Said Blacknight and left to find her father.
"Father, may I talk with you?" Blacknight asked as she came up to her
father. "Why yes Blacknight, what is it?" he asked. For some cats asking
to leave home is easy, but for Blacknight she had to ask a full grown
male lion! "Father, the Jellicles are going to be leaving soon. I was
wondering if I could go with them." Blacknight said. "Leave the zoo?
LEAVE THE ZOO?! What do you mean?" yelled her father. "Father, here I
have no one of my own kind. They are my own kind, and I even have family
there." Said Blacknight. Blacknight's mother came over then, "Kapasa,
she's right. In her kind she is fully grown and here she is fully
grown." Said her mother. "But Vitani, there are dangers out there." Said
her father. "I'm sure she'll be safe. You may go Blacknight." Said her
mother. "Oh thank you! Thank you!" Blacknight cried and ran off to tell
the others.
"Alonzo! Alonzo!" cried Blacknight as she ran up to him. "What?" Alonzo
asked as Blacknight came up to him. "I'm going to the junkyard with
you!" she said. "Great! Let's go tell the others!" he said and the two
started back to the camp. Alonzo and Blacknight had become really close
friends since the Jellicles came.
Suddenly something jumped on the two. Blacknight threw off the cat on
her but two more jumped on her. One of the three cats on Alonzo took a
rock and struck his head and he was out cold. After Blacknight could
fight no more the cats dragged the two back to the Jellicle camp. When
they got their Blacknight saw Pecion and called out to her. "Pecion!
Help!" Blacknight called. When Cassandra saw Alonzo she cried as the cat
threw him next to her. Pecion walked up to Blacknight. "Why?" Pecion
asked. "Why? You're our friend, why shouldn't you help!" Blacknight
yelled.
"You though I was your friend? You see I work for Macavity and he wants
the lions on his side." Pecion said. "They'll never do it!" snapped
Blacknight. "Why do you think I have Tarzan, for fun. They'll pay for
you." Pecion said. "You'll lose your life!" yelled Mungojerrie from
another end of the camp. "How do you know?" asked Pecion as she walked
closer to him. "We all know how protective lions are of their cubs." He
said. Pecion slapped him across his face. "Kill him." Said Pecion and
started to walk off as 3 alley cats came towards Mungojerrie. "NO!"
yelled Rumpelteazer as the alley cats leaped on Mungojerrie.
Blacknight looked around. What could she do? Then she remembered Alonzo
telling her about Tarzan, he had his own call. No one here knew how to
talk lion, she could call for help and no one would know it. Then she
took a deep breath and roared. (And I mean roared. Not whose wimpy
roars.) The cats that held her just looked at her and the cats that
were beating Mungojerrie up dropped him and Mungojerrie just laid there.
Pecion came up to her. "So, you think your all that because you can
roar? Oh I'm so scared. Is your daddy going to save you." Pecion asked
and right behind her Kapasa (Blacknight's father) came up. The cats that
held Blacknight then ran and then all the alley cats ran off. "What's
wrong with you? GET BACK HERE!" Pecion yelled and then turned around.
"Kapasa!" she yelled and ran off. Kapasa laughed but then saw
Mungojerrie.
Rumpelteazer was trying to wake him up. Kapasa came over and picked him
up and grunted something. Blacknight turned to the others. "He said we
must stay here, until Mungojerrie gets better at least. Come on." She
said and they all went to the lion tribe's home. Mungojerrie was put is
a very small part of the cave. Rumpelteazer stayed at his side the whole
time.
When he woke up Rumpelteazer began to wash his face. "W-Where am I?" he
asked. "Blacknight's family's tribes home. I thought I'd never see you
again." Cried Rumpelteazer. "Yeah, but I'm alright." He said. "I
wouldn't be able to live with out you." Rumpelteazer said. "Me nether."
Said Mungojerrie and that ended their words.
In three weeks Mungojerrie was good as new and time to go home.
Blacknight said goodbye to her to her family and said she visit soon. As
the Jellicles walked in the junkyard Blacknight's eyes got bigger. "Well
Blacknight, welcome to new home." Said Munkustrap. Blacknight looked
around, she was home.
