The Great War
(Blacknight's Note: This story takes place before Blacknight or Pacifica
came to the Jellicle tribe.)
Alonzo and Mistoffelees sat in the junkyard watching the kittens play.
"So what are you doing tonight?" asked Alonzo. "I don't know. I may
practice my magic; I'm trying to get statues to come to life." Said
Mistoffelees. "Ok. Do you want to annoy the Rumpus Cat?" asked Alonzo.
"Didn't you do that last week?" asked Mistoffelees. "Yeah, so?"
Mistoffelees shook his head, "Never mind." Demeter poked her head in
between the Toms. "Can I join this conversation?" she asked. Alonzo
looked behind him, "Sure." He said and Demeter came and sat down next to
the two Toms.
Suddenly there was a loud scream. Demeter sat up, "Bombalurina!" she
cried. Then they saw Bombalurina running from an oven and rats and ally
cats came out of every corner of the junkyard. The Jellicles were
surround. Then Macavity appeared. The looked around, "There's someone
missing." He growled. Munkustrap looked around, he saw everyone except
Mungojerrie. Macavity walked around. Before anyone could stop him
Macavity grabbed Rumpelteazer by the neck and held her up high. "Were is
he!" he yelled at Rumpelteazer. "I-I don't k-know." She stuttered.
Then a streak of dark orange jumped out from no were and began clawing
at his face. Rumpelteazer was dropped to the ground and she looked up
and saw Mungojerrie clawing Macavity. She jumped up and ran. Munkustrap
and Alonzo were now fighting off the ally cats and rats. Finally
Macavity threw off Mungojerrie and he hit the wall back first. Macavity
called to his rats and ally cats and before they left Macavity yelled,
"This means war!"
Rumpelteazer ran over to Mungojerrie and began to wash his wounds.
Alonzo shied, "This means we have to train for war." Munkustrap nodded,
"Skimbleshanks, go get Old Deuteronomy and tell him what happened.
Mungojerrie, are you alright?" Mungojerrie nodded, "Yeah, why ya ask?"
Coricopat shook his head, "Maybe because you just got thrown against thewall."
Munkustrap and Rumpelteazer helped Mungojerrie up. "Listen, I want all
the Toms here an hour after sun down. We must get ready for the war."
Then Munkustrap turned to Mungojerrie who was leaning against
Rumpelteazer, "Mungojerrie, if you are still in pain don't come. Alright
lets get some sleep." And with that everyone went home.
The next day everyone was in the junkyard that day. Mungojerrie was much
better. Munkustrap helped Old Deuteronomy to the group. "Everyone," said
Old Deuteronomy, "War is coming, the Toms will fight and we will find a
safe place for the Queens when the fighting begins. Maybe some of us
will not make it back, but I have faith in all of you." And then Old
Deuteronomy sat down.
Then Mistoffelees came over to the group. "I have something useful."
Mistoffelees said. Alonzo looked at him, "What is it?" he asked.
Mistoffelees waved his hands around and then a statue of five women
appeared. "These are The Muses. They're the goddess of the arts."
Mistoffelees said. "So…" said Rum Tum Tugger. Mistoffelees waved his
hands around and then the five women tuned into five Queens! "These
Queens will help us fight." Mistoffelees said. Old Deuteronomy shook his
head, "Mistoffelees, we said none of the Queens could fight." One of The
Muses stepped up; "We are immortal. We can not get hurt or killed." Old
Deuteronomy thought a moment, "I know…you can help us fight in the war."
The five Queens swelled with delight.
All of then were a golden color but one. She was just a kitten and she
looked just like Alonzo! "She stepped up, "Thank you for letting us
fight in the…did you say war?" she asked. "Well, yes." Said Munkustrap.
She turned to Mistoffelees who was right next to Alonzo, "How come you
didn't get Athena?" One of the older Muses said, "Because she's on
vacation." The little kitten looked surpzied, "We can take vacations!
Why didn't I know about this?" Another one of the older Muses stepped
up, "We should tell you our names. I'm Calliope and these are my
sisters' Thalia, Clio, Melpomene, and the black and white one is not my
sister. She's Alonzola. She is also the youngest daughter of Zeus. Sofar."
Alonzola saw Alonzo and said, "How come you look like me?" Alonzo just
shrugged. Alonzola shrugged to and said, "So, when do we start?"
Munkustrap came over to her and smiled, "Right now." Munkustrap then
stood up, "We will be put into groups, in ten days the war will began."
Alonzola's group was Alonzo, Plato, Coricopat, and Admetus. Since
Alonzola was a god she was much stronger that the other Toms. The Toms
and the Muses worked all day for ten days. The Toms mates were very
worried but tried to hide it. Alonzo and Alonzola had become very close;
they almost like long lost twins. Then the night before the war came.
The Queens spent a lot of time with their mates. Alonzola walked around
the junkyard and saw Plato and Jemima taking a walk. Then she saw
Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer talking together. Alonzola shied and wentto sleep.
The next day Alonzola and the others lined up ready to fight. The Queens
were safely hidden away with their mate's promises that they would come
back. Clio was staying with the Queens incase the ally cats came over to
them. Alonzola stood her ground and yelled, "Here they come!" The ally
cats charged and so did the Jellicles. Alonzola and Alonzo stayed close
together while fighting. Alonzo saw Pouncival getting beat up. Alonzo
rushed over to help and threw off one of them. Alonzola saw this and
began helping. Pouncival soon got up and helped Alonzo and Alonzola.
"You fight just like Athena." Said Pouncival. "Well, she is my half
sister." Alonzola said.
Alonzola saw Munkustrap on the ground and Macavity just about to go for
the kill. "Oh no you don't!" she yelled and jumped on Macavity. She
clawed at his face and bit as hard as she could. Finally Macavity and
his men retreated. Alonzola gave a cry of joy and looked around. She saw
Alonzo helping Munkustrap up, the Muses were just fine, and then she saw
Tugger's left leg. It was covered with blood. The Alonzola saw everyone
was alive. The Jellicles started home.
When the Queens saw their mates they ran up to them. Rumpelteazer jumped
on Mungojerrie which made him fall but he kissed her cheek. Bombalurina
ran to Rum Tum Tugger and helped him home. The Muses said goodbye and
went home. That was the end of the war, for now.
