PROPOSED MUNICIPAL BUILDING II

The need for fundamental structures is one of the tings we have to consider. In 1972, the idea to construct a new Municipal Building in the outskirts of the poblacion was hatched. Traditionally, the Spanish colonialism advocated the cluster of public structures of the municipality such as municipal buildings, public plaza and church with confined area.

The new Municipal Hall Bldg. IIDramatically the project was realized which earned for our then Mayor Celestino E. Mar Jr. the citation as one of the "Most Outstanding Mayor" during the Marcos era.

As the years passed, another need arose. The need for an office expansion. The municipality has gradually grown indirectly insinuates the creation of new departments and the addition of some national offices devolved to the municipality. The lack of space is prevalent among the few departments. The inconvenience and hassle are to be considered into. To be practical, the idea of constructing an additional Municipal Building is a must. Some departments are having inadequate office accommodated. To mention, there are even departments devolved to the municipality that hold their offices outside the Municipal Building.

The Municipal Hall Building IThe proposed Municipal Building II is conveniently located at the back of the existing Municipal Building. This building is architecturally designed with a granite finish. A new classic design adapted from the modern and old Roman design.

The Municipal Building II has a total area of approximately Seven Hundred Seventy Five (775) square meters. The building is a reinforced concrete structure with an ACI (American Concrete Institute) standard. It is a two-storey building with an ample parking area. Comfort rooms for men and women and a good drainage system are some of the amenities and conveniences of the building designed to be well lighted, comfortable and well ventilated that offers good working environment to the personnel.

The project is estimated at the cost of about four million and one hundred thousand pesos (P4,140,000.00). This is another concrete evidence that taxes paid the people do not come to naught. It has been shown unequivocally that officials of the municipality have been working consistently hard for the improvement and welfare of the town populace - the betterment of the community, more particularly.

REMODELED SEVERO VERALLO PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL

The new SVP Hospital Majority of us would say health is wealth. The advent of hospitals, health clinics and health centers is solely for the welfare of everybody. The Severo Verallo Provincial Hospital (SVPH) is a fifty (50) bed hospital with modern medical facilities comparable to some private city hospitals. An emergency room, operating room, x-ray room delivery room, pediatric ward, male medical and surgical ward, female medical and surgical ward, OB-Gyne Ward, nursery intensive care unit and out-patient departments are some of the components of the hospital. The complete works for the remodeling of the hospital is estimated at thirty three million pesos (P 33,000,000.00).

BOGO BUS TERMINAL

The proposed bus terminalCommunication and transportation are some of the key factors for development. The Bogo Bus Terminal for particular is an architecturally designed structured. A vast parking area comparable to a city mall. Buses, jeepneys, trucks, tricycles and other forms of locomotives will be accommodated by this terminal. A properly designed traffic system would be adopted.

The concept will be one big structure that include a cinema, restaurants, bakeshops, dry goods stalls, lodging quarters for transient and stranded passengers. The estimated cost for this terminal is twenty million pesos (P 20,000,000.00).

PORT OF BOGO

The propose port of BogoStrategically located, Port of Bogo is a thing to consider. A port which is an alternative to the congested Port of Cebu that could accommodate cargo and passenger ships. A proposed containerized port with modern facilities to allow ocean going vessels to call is now undergoing a comprehensive study. Equipped with electric powered container yard and a freeway for passenger and cargo vehicles.

Stretching about a kilometer the Port of Bogo would be a catalyst for economic explosion to the municipality

PROPOSED SAN ANTONIO SATELLITE MARKET

The proposed San Antonio Satellite MarketThe parameter for development adheres the need to construct a modern satellite market equipped with adequate facilities. An ample parking area for buses, jeepneys and our very own tricycles. The market can cater ambulant vendors with different farm crops yield from their farms such as vegetables, fruits another edible commodities

The market also caters to different kinds of livestock. Carabaos, cows, goats, pigs and chicken are some of those. Buyers from the component cities are already accustomed to come this market for the livestock. The estimated cost of this proposed satellite market is six million pesos (P6,000,000.00).

BOGO WATER DISTRICT

The proposed Water DistrictWater is life. The primary element of human existence is water. Although adequate potable water supply is becoming a serious concern for Cebu, the Municipality of Bogo has forewarned itself on this apprehension. The Bogo Water District was created to supply the Bogohanons the adequate amount of potable water for twenty four hours service. The total project estimated cost is about forty-five million pesos (P45 M). The project is supported by the Local Water Utilities Administrations (LWUA) for their technical expertise.

RESETTLEMENT PROJECT

The proposed resettlement homes for the urban poorWith increasing number of migrants to the municipality, the urban poor community must be considered. The number of squatters has increased proportionately, constructing makeshift dwellings along the shorelines of the poblacion area. Currently the Municipality of Bogo is undertaking a one (1) hectare reclamation land for the urban poor. Located at barangay La Purisima Concepcion, a settlement with a macadam road network system, a good drainage system comparable to a privately financed subdivision. It is provided with a playground and an open space for other community gatherings not to mention a power line for the electricity and an area for vegetation to supplement an ecological balance.
