The early archery season began September 1 and the weather was beautiful. Finally on the 24th I got a 17 yard opportunity at this 4x4 with my Hoyt Razortec, a favorite of mine for the past 10 years. The 100 grain Montec went through his heart and he ran less than 50 yards before expiring.

Did you ever see anyone looking so happy at getting a nice buck? Mike got this guy in one of his favorite spots with his brand spanking new Ruger .06. One of these days he may get one as big as his daughter's first buck from last year.

Tiffany took her hunter training course this year and subsequently got her license. The first animal she had an opportunity at was this great black bear, on which she made a perfect shot.

This was Coralee's second hunting season and she was successful once again. Both bucks and does were open to her as a youth hunter and on November 8 she anchored this fine doe with an excellent shot.

Hunting in his home territory near Creston, Aaron missed a chance at a great 5-pt (i.e., 5x5) as it tended a doe. But he stuck to the area in the following days and came up with this nice one - just not as nice as the one that got away.
