2013 SEASON
.
After I had passed up this buck twice during the early archery season, Aaron accompanied me one afternoon and took the opportunity to acquire it. The shot was about 30 yards and it ran about that much again before expiring.
.
Having let way too many bucks walk early in the year, the October doldrums set in. November got really cold and my outdoor activity waned, but when late archery season commenced on December 1, I seized the first chance I got. The shot was a 20 yard passthrough and the buck ran about 60 yards.
.
My doe hunt on the evening of December 4 was a virtual carbon copy of my earlier buck hunt. The deer came to the same location and the shot was perhaps 3 yards farther. The same arrow - and same broadhead - passed through and landed a couple feet beyond again and the deer ran about 60 yards before toppling over.
