This season got off to a slow start with the boys both working their fingers to the bone and me on a long overseas trip. But doe season opened October 10 and Coralee was first off the mark, acquiring this one on October 20. Unfortunately she was reluctant to have her picture taken - something about not having her make-up with her, I think.
.
Meanwhile, I had been getting up before the crack of dawn each day and finally arrowed this one October 21. The shot was a double lung pass-through from 15 yards and she dashed less than 50 more before expiring.
.
I normally write off October as a non-productive month, but this year was a marked exception. Mike got this nice 4-point and, even though the rut was still 2 or 3 weeks away, this guy had put on some serious neck muscling.
.
Nice doe acquired by Mike on October 28.
.
As always, I had a fine time hunting the rut, although getting up at 5:00 every morning was getting a bit tedious. Finally I connected on November 19 as this guy became a little too careless.
