The Grande River - Elora Gorge, Ontario
|
Hubby
Recently, Jerry and I loaded our car with camping gear and starting driving to find a good spot to "get away from it all". A few hours later we arrived at one of the nicest campgrounds I've ever been to!
Elora Gorge Conservation Campground is located on a very wooded steep gorge and it took us a half hour of driving through it before we found a spot we called ours! It's a little hard to notice in this picture but Jerry is sitting on a wall on top of a steep cliff overlooking the Grande River. It is approximately 100 feet straight down!
Before I snapped this posed shot, Jerry thought he would freak me out a bit by "pretending" to hop over that wall...It worked!

A Hidden Treasure
The river is fairly shallow, but a few areas have "surprise" drops so watching your footing is advised. The Grande River is famous for it's Brown Trout and fly-fishing is a very popular sport here! That's Jerry standing in the middle of it, practising his fly cast! |
Patience is a Virtue
This is only 1 of 8 trout Jerry caught in one day! He loves this spot so much he has convinced all of his brothers to go there with him.
