MOTHER KNOWS BEST

*Click to hear the very funny song 'Hello Mother'*

My husband is a very sensitive man. I've often wondered if there are other women who are married to the same kind of man I am.

He hates being wrong most of all. After living with him for four years, I have finally learned how to deal with arguments over who's right and who's wrong. GIVE UP!

You may consider this tactic as cowardly but I consider it the best way to stop the shouting, to boost his ego, to get him to smile, and to get a great night of love-making all by saying two words --"You're Right".

I've decided that even if he isn't right, I know it and deep down inside, so does he. If he really does think he's right, that's fine too. Someday, he'll learn from someone or something that he was wrong and he'll apologize to me and I'll receive even more peace and quiet, another nice smile and more great love-making. Either way, I don't lose out on what's really important-US.

Now if I could only use the same tactics with my son! He believes it's wrong of me to change his diapers, and it's wrong of me to give him a bath, and it's wrong of me to put him to bed, and it's especially wrong of me to take away knives, scissors and the ever so popular ashtray!

The tactics used for my husband just do not apply to my darling, rosy-cheeked, stubborn and uncomprimising one and a half year old son!

How I'd love to have a night off! Maybe when my husband gets home from work, I'll tell him I'm taking tonight off. I'll tell him I'm not cooking supper tonight. I'll tell him I'm not giving our son his bath tonight, or putting him to bed. I'll tell him that HE has been elected as mother of the house tonight. I'll tell him in no uncertain terms that tonight is my night to watch HIM cook and clean and diaper and bathe and scold and put our son to bed.......
And he'll tell me I'm wrong!
