What is the CCSA?

Rooted in the Gospel of Christ and in the spirit of Vatican II, the Canadian Catholic Students' Association (CCSA) works to nurture christian student leadership, and to support prayerful prophetic and pastoral action within the context of Canadian higher education.

The CCSA is a national framework of support and communication which unifies local catholic student communities and represents them on national and international levels: catholic, ecumenical and interfaith.

Why CCSA conferences?

The CCSA conferences are established to accomplish the following:

  1. establish our role in the formation of a shared national union of Canadian Catholic students and our role in the Church of today
  2. to attend lectures and workshops and learn about our shared Catholic faith
  3. to network and meet students from similar groups across Canada to share and pray
  4. to gain insights on how we can reach to others within the university community in a meaningful way

Why attend this CCSA 1999 National Conference?

The reasons are endless.  Firstly, the location of having it in Vancouver is reason enough, however, if that's not enough, this year's conference is built upon the successes of the previous national conferences held in the past.  Every year the conferences just seem to get better and better.  Secondly,  this year's theme of "Sea to Sky:  Let Us Climb God's Mountain" is a reflection of God as our rock and foundation.  Also, it calls us to reflect on God the Father, which this year of 1999, is the focus in preparation for the Great Jubilee 2000.  Thirdly, there will be a concert by a local band, sessions given by a dynamic speaker, Mass with the Archbishop, a hike up one of Vancouver's mountains, a fun talent night and a dinner and dance evening just to name a  few exciting events.

Who attends the CCSA Conferences?

Students!  Namely college and university students.  This is also open to recent 1999 high school graduates.  By no means is this an exclusive conference, however, keep in mind that this conference is geared toward the young adult student community.
