hot-headed young lawyer who envies the Collins family's wealth, and resents their power.

Vince O'Brien as Sheriff George Patterson

Characters mentioned, but not seen

Miss Spence, the town librarian, an expert on antique toys.  She examines the doll that Sarah gave Maggie, and declares that nothing like it has been made for over 150 years...

Tim Newley, a cannery employee, injured on the job, who hires Tony Peterson to sue Collins Enterprises for compensation.  Despite Roger's disdainful reaction, it was later implied that he made a fair settlement.

David Collins, the ancestor and namesake of the present David, who points out his picture to Julia in a family album.  he apparently lived in the late 18th century, since he is only a few pages away from Barnabas and Sarah.

Niall Bradford, the cousin Barnabas claimed to have lived with in England.  But James Blair finds out that Niall Bradford died 130 years ago...

"F. McA. C.", initials embroidered on a lace handkerchief which Barnabas finds at Seaview and gives to Vicki as a present.  Since the lady presumably lived at Seaview, it's a safe bet that "C." stands for Collins.

Ina O'Donnell, a nurse at the Hammond Foundling Home of whom Vicki was very fond.  Vicki still has the doll that Ina gave her as a child.

Caleb Sayers Collins, the last inhabitant of Seaview, he died in 1872.  An eccentric recluse, he left a will stipulating that no one but a Collins could live in the house for 100 years after his death.  (Liz was willing to "overlook" this clause and give the house to Vicki as a wedding present; but then, she knew more about Vicki's origin than she was telling.)
