Eucalyptus tenuiramis -
Silver Peppermint
(Tasmania) A medium-sized tree which comes from drier sites and poorer
soils in northern and eastern Tasmania. It is a very beautiful tree,
with smooth cream-colored bark with some grey patches, and pendulous shiny
silvery-green leaves. The first few sets of juvenile leaves completely
encircle the stem in the same manner as E. perriniana, but slightly
different. Reasonably fast-growing to about 50 - 60', and requires
good drainage. Hybridizes and intergrades with E. coccifera.
Probably hardy to around 6 - 14°F.
