Photos from a late September hike at Seven Devils, Idaho.  This interesting small mountain range east of Hells Canyon is accessed by a road from Riggins that climbs about 6,500' in 17 miles to the trailhead.  The 31 mile trail loops around the mountain range.  We completed it in 12 hours, as well as a side trip to a small lake.  Most of these photos (perhaps all? I forget.) by Kyle Strom.

We passed through several surreal 'silver forests', some of which were quite large.
Dead tree overlooking Hells Canyon.  At this point on the far side of the range from the trailhead, the trail was about 6,500' above the canyon floor.  At one point the trail climbs to about 7,200' above the canyon floor - but I don't recall being able to see to the bottom.
This looks fishy to me.
A lake, and one of the higher peaks (about 9,300').  The creek from this lake was completely dried up.
More burnt trees at timberline at 8,000'.
The sun's going down, but only 9 miles left.
