A mid-October hike to Ingalls Lake, near Mt. Stuart, Washington.  This would have to be the most scenic hike I have ever been on; however, my camera was broken.  So you will just have to imagine the orange and grey rock playground, golden yellow stunted larches, and recently fallen snow, surrounded by jagged, ice-clad peaks.  I thought I was Bilbo Baggins in the Misty Mountains.  Photos by Kyle Strom.

Ingalls Lake, and the 9,400' peak of Mt. Stuart in the background.
