Elminster's Advice


Let's face it: libraries and bookstores are seldom of much help when you don't know where to start. You probably wonder which book to try first, or which series or trilogies should be read before the others. Maybe Elminster's advice will help you. Here is the (incomplete, unfortunately - none of us has read all the novels of the Forgotten Realms and this list isn't absolute *gets frowned at by El and hastily adds:*, but it should be more than enough to start) recommended order to choose. Not following this order of reading won't give disastrous results, nor will the reader be so confused or whatever, but these are just suggestions that might help.

Note: the ** symbols mean it's a particularly recommended series/trilogy. By the way, this section may not stay *sees Elminster frown again and hesitates*, since everyone's taste may vary but we'll just have to see... Morri
