Few people can compare with the singular---and singularly named---Charo. More than just a chihuahua in a wig, Charo is a gifted comedienne, actress, and world-class master of flamenco guitar. The first entertainer to bring "Spanglish" to the forefront, she is also fluent in French, Italian, and Japanese. The possibilities of what she could do with those languages just boggles the mind! But in any language, Charo is a diva. Born on January 15, 1951, few knew that Maria Rosario Pilar Martinez Molina Baeza would one day hold the record for most "Love Boat" appearances. Her role as "Aunt Charo" on "Chico and the Man" further pushed the envelope, and her dramatic work in "The Concord---Airport '79" can't be touched. But it is her endearing "cuchi cuchi" routine that has won fans (and hearts) the world over. Personally, we were moved to tears when she said those magic words on the "Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special", after a particularly stirring rendition of---you guessed it---"Feliz Navidad". And as luck would have it, her latest album, "Gusto", features her hit single "Give Me Cuchi"! For the past decade, Charo has called Hawaii her home. Her nightclub act there sells out regularly, and she owns a restaurant there as well. Cuchi cuisine, anyone?.....Because after all these years, she still lives to entertain,
CHARO IS A DIVA NOT TO BE FORGOTTEN!!!
