NONA HENDRYX

There can be little doubt that Nona Hendryx is a Diva. After all, she was in Labelle! That alone is reason enough to bow down before her, yet that was just the beginning. Unlike Patti Labelle, Nona chose to march to the beat of a more obscure drummer. Her 1983 release, "Nona", was groundbreaking, fusing rock, soul, and funk with edge and attitude. One of the songs on it, "Design for Living", featured a backing band of Laurie Anderson, Gina Schock (the Go-Gos), Nancy Wilson (Heart), Tina Weymouth (Talking Heads), and yes, Patti Labelle. Talk about Diva Overload! Nona's spectacular voice can also be heard on numerous albums by other artists, including Prince, Peter Gabriel, and the Talking Heads. She even produced work by the infamous Bush Tetras! A compilation of her best songs, called "Transformation", has just been released, and hopefully it will remind the world that there is an extremely rare creature in its midst. Outspoken and outrageous,

NONA HENDRYX IS A TOTAL DIVA NOT TO BE FORGOTTEN!!!
