ROSE MARIE

Whilst enjoying a PBS documentary about vaudeville, I was once again reminded, as one so often is, of Rose Marie, a Forgotten Diva if e'er there was one. Apparently she started out as some sort of child star, with frighteningly adult singing skills. Aside from her groundbreaking work as Sally Rogers on "The Dick Van Dyke Show", and of course her stint on "Hollywood Squares", she has also graced the screen in such films as "Witchboard" (1987) and the ever-popular "Ghettoblaster" (1989). In the vaudeville documentary, filmed a few years ago, our Rose Marie looked VERY old, yet she still wore that little black bow in her hair! It is because of that simple gesture, and so many other reasons, that ROSE MARIE IS A DIVA NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN!!!
