Roxie Roker!
Known today primarily for being the mother of a certain Lenny Kravitz, Roxie Roker's real contribution to humankind was her portrayal on "The Jeffersons" of Helen Willis, one half of television's first interracial couple. (This was a role she played in real life as well!) Sure there was Weezy and Florence, and even the grandma, yet Helen was the true diva of the show---all sass and class, never stooping to the level of small-minded George but remaining the calm eye of the storm that was "The Jeffersons"...A former NBC administrator, Roxie also appeared on "A Different World", "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper", and of course that cinematic milestone "Amazon Women on the Moon". She passed away in 1993 at age 64. Son Lenny named his vanity label "Roxie Records" in honor of his mom. We honor her, too..............ROXIE ROKER: A DIVA NOT TO BE FORGOTTEN!!!
