6 lb. ground beef
3/4 c. shortening
6 large onions, chopped
2 green peppers, chopped
4 Tbsp. salt
5 c. uncooked rice
4 cans (No. 2) canned tomatoes, undrained
2 cans (4 oz.) mushrooms and juice
6 c. celery, chopped
Soya Sauce
Preheat electric roaster to 500 degrees. Brown beef in hot fat in
enamel inset pan covered. Add remaining ingredients except
celery. Stir and cover. Cook until vegetables and rice are
tender at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes. Add celery last 20
minutes of cooking time. Serve with soya sauce. Makes 50 servings.
