Chocolate Snow Balls

 
1 tablespoon vanilla 
1 cup powdered sugar 
1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons butter or margarine 
1/4 cup evaporated milk 
1 teaspoon vanilla 
1 3/4 cup all purpose flour 
2 tablespoons cocoa powder 
1/4 cup powdered sugar 
1 cup finely chopped walnuts 
Preheat oven to 325° F and grease baking sheet.
Mix 1 tablespoon vanilla and 1 cup powdered sugar - press through sieve and 
set 
aside to dry. Cream butter until light; beat in milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla. 

Sift flour, cocoa and 1/2 cup powdered sugar together. 
Gradually add to creamed mixture. Mix in walnuts; chill. 

Form dough into small balls ( about 1 teaspoon dough); place 2 inches apart 
on 
greased baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes. Roll in vanilla sugar while warm. 
Makes 5 dozen.
